Can someone give me a site to check out info on umps? I thought there was one that assigned an ERA to them.

Thanks

I was just going to post a thread like this also. 18677, I found that site. HD, I also like StatFox and their stats. This is another good one I found:

http://www.ats411.com/MLB/umpires/umpires.aspx

What I really am looking for though is a game by game listing. Does anyone know where to find that? For example,

<TABLE style="WIDTH: 225pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" border=0 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=300 x:str><COLGROUP><COL style="WIDTH: 48pt" width=64><COL style="WIDTH: 45pt; mso-width-source: userset; MLB umpires rotate on a counter clockwise basis.
You can determine who is going to call balls and strikes for a particular series after the opening game, the man who umpires thrid base will umpire home in game 2 of that series, the man umpiring second will call balls and strikes in game 3, etc. etc. etc.

You have it backwards.

In general, the Umpiring rotation is as follows: HOME ---> THIRD ---> SECOND --->FIRST ---> HOME

Thus, today's first base Umpire will be behind the plate tomorrow.

Jackel is correct on umpire rotation during a series, I made good jack last yr in June july and august betting O/U based on the plate umpire tendecies, there was 8 or so that were 70% on either Over or Under when behind the plate, most were unders. When a new series starts it is hard to
find the umpire rotation until about 10 minutes to gametime but from then on you can figure out. I am going to do it again this yr after Memorial day. GL Toto

Last year I tried to record who was on each crew. Sometimes you can find an entire crew that will call the games the same way. The crew chief is capable of dictating this. MLB shuffles and mixes some crews up though. If you think you know so and so is "suppose" to be behind the plate because it is his turn just be careful and double check the box prior to gametime and make sure things did not change.

In 2008 these were the top OVER umps by pct. and avg. RPG
Campos 78% 11.6
Darling 67.6% 9.9
Reynolds 66.7% 10.3
Tschida 64.7 9.9
Meals 64.7 9.8

and these were the top Under umps.

Davidson 68.8% 7.9
Eastabrook 69.2% 8.2
Foster 68.8% 8.4
Kulpa 67.7% 7.8
Knight 65% 8.8

I think the league avg. for runs was 9.3 pg.
I threw anyone that did not have at least 15 games behind the plate.

Maybe worthy of mention as far as under umps go....

Emmel 7.9
Fletcher 8.1
Danley 8.5
Eddings 9.2 ( high for him, he is usually THE lowest)
