Home Plate Umpire Larry Poncino is cause for this Alert

-70% of his games have gone over this season
-He did not work a Carpenter or Pettite pitched game in 2005
-His walks per 9 IP (7.21) is the highest among all regular umpires indicating a tight strikezone
-Teams collectively averaged 9.81 runs per games

I believe this will effect Pettite more adversley than Carpenter. Pettite works the edge and is not overpowering, needing more on a wide zone to be effective. Both pitchers have been lights out most of the year. In this crucial game it will be most interesting to see who handles the adversity best.
