Free card on Fox tonight, starting off will Prelims at 5 on Fox Sports 1. Not a ton of value to note on the Card, but gonna take a little chance here with a few doggies and see if some favs can do work. It's time!!

Darren Elkins +105...................................1 unit -This fight is basically a toss up to me, with The Lil Heathen having a tad of a power advantage on the feet. I'm going to go with the doggie here in Elkins, thinking that he can be a little more crafty and technical on the ground and grind out a close decision here.

Josh Thomson +230.................................0.5 unit -Hopefully these guys stand and give us a great fight where head kicks could be a plenty. Thomson has a tad of a power advantage here I think, but the size of Benson's legs for this weight class can't be denied lol. On the Ground, I lean Benson in the BJJ aspect, although I have seen him submitted on a few occasions at jitz tourneys in the first couple of minutes. Thomson has never been submitted, so this helps my cause of wanting a stand up brawl. The only thing that does concern me is Thomson has outright admitted this is the worst training camp he has ever had, and he is getting old in the fight game like me at 35, so this may play a toll here, but we shall see.

Mike Rio +215........................................0.25 units -a little value here at these odds, so I will go with a very small for the helluvit wager. C'mon Mike, win the fight!

Nikita Krylov +340.................................0.25 units -worth a helluvit for the Hvywt one punch fight is over chance. no way I lay -400 on the Big Ticket, and Krylov's toughness alone is worth the very small wager. One of these 2 doesn't make it to see the final bell. Hopefully Krylov can get it done here. If not, he's only 21 years old and will easily rebound.

Leans
Cerrone -190 -it was a play, but I just can't do it with him not watching tape, which in return, I don't know what else he didn't do, and if he slacked off any in this Training Camp, it may be bad news for the Cowboy as Martins is a legit opponent. The jab, jab, kick may not work for Cerrone here. this should be a good fight to watch. Enjoy.

Pettis -190 -can't lay it as I'm not a total fan of Bruce Leroy, but he has looked good at 135, and both of these guys are crafty enough to make this an athletic battle here

Parlay 1 unit to win 2.16 units

Harris/Krylov doesn't go distance -400 -KO or chokey choke for one of these guys
Viana -295 -this guy is the real deal and I think it shows tonight
Wineland -300 -weird no one is talking about this fight. Wineland is a good fighter. Should get the stoppage here.
Miocic -240 -this one scares me the most, but I think Stipe can keep it standing and GG doesn't like to get hit. Knock him out Stipe!

Enjoy the fights and have a great weekend.

Crap! The parlay is actually my fav! It's used to save the day if the doggies I like don't come through, and to kill the juice on the favs I love. Good luck. The televised card starts in 5 minutes. Hope our luck continues...

Well, not the greatest night at the Fights in the wagering Dept, nor the judging dept either(more on that in a minute), but a winning night non the less with the parlay coming through to save face.

Darren Elkins is tough! He has heart, and a chin that can take a hit from a Mack truck. Unfortunately, he couldn't get the fight to the ground enough to bring it into his favor, and that is what I was hoping would happen. It did happen on several occassions though, and the fight did end with Darren in a dominant choke position, however, just a little too late, as he lost the first 2 rounds. If he lands that position in the first round, this fight is over with quickly. As for Stephens, the step down in weight class has proven to be the right thing to do. He has shown he is a force to be reckoned with and will get the opportunity at the Top if he continues to fight and improve. He hit Elkins with some hard shots last night that would have dropped most pros, and his TDD was great as well. Curious to see who The Lil Heathen gets as his next opponent.

Josh Thompson appeared to injure his hand in the 2nd Round. Needless to say, IMO he still clearly won the fight. Called it biased if you want, but I had it 3-2 Thomson, and the judge who had it 4-1 Benson clearly didn't watch the fight. It leaned 4-1 Thomson if anything. Benson has gotten several controversial split decisions in the past, and this is no doubt one of them. I guess we get to see him fight Pettis again. Oh joy.

Mike Rio got beat by the better opponent. Simple as that.

Nikita Krylov said "My foot's upside ya head, i said my foot's upside ya head!". 25 second head kick KO for the +340 hard hitting doggie.

1-3 (-0.90 units)

Parlay 1 unit to win 2.16 units WINNA

Total 2-3 (+1.26 units)

May see ya for UFC 169 next Saturday. If not, may you enjoy the fights and get some fair judging.
