although i expect a Conor victory it will be interesting to see him against Nate.......this will be the first UFC fight i believe where Conor is NOT the bigger fighter....height, reach, possible weight. I hope Nate comes in in the shape and as motivated as he did against Johnson!....because if he is neither of the two he will be destroyed!!.....thoughts?

He's not coming into this fight in the shape he should be in. There's a huge difference between fighting shape and just simply training shape. Sure, these guys stay in relatively good enough shape to fight all the time, but not at a high level, and definitely not for a 5 round Main Event. He needed a 8 week training camp, although I still don't think it would make much difference. Yes, Diaz will have the height and reach advantage, but nowhere near the strength advantage or wrestling it would take to grind this out on the ground. Good luck and enjoy the fight, but to me, the best fight here is taking place now with the pressers...

Totally agree w you Matty!....thinkin his best shot at victory is a sneaky submission, which is not out of the question!....theyre already talkin Nick getting a shot at him in the future!.....who knows!....those boys are far from mental giants and the interviews are sometimes painful to watch!....entertaining none the less but painful!

Nate is taller and bigger than anyone Conor has faced, but he doesn't necessarily use that to his advantage much. He doesn't kick much, so I imagine Conor's kicking range is longer than Nate's boxing range. If it was a grip fight against the cage, I wouldn't be surprised if Conor was the more physically strong fighter (this is a very unlikely position for this fight, but just sayin'). He also doesn't have a hell of a lot of power in his shots, where Conor would be forced to stay outside due to risk of being slept.

And I swear this is my last post for awhile...but you see very similar styles of striking coming from guys like Scoggins and Wonderboy as you do in those gifs in the article. I'm not just saying that because Matty trains with those dudes, but I see some of the exact same movements.
