Hello,

I am an avid MMA follower, but like all sports that doesn't mean I know how to bet it. I am sort of new to betting in general. I bet football and have done pretty well for being some what new to it all.

I read a lot of the main guys that post in the MMA section.

Any opinion on the following parlay I have been looking at?

A. Silva Wins inside distance -280
Dennis Kang over Xavier Foupa-Pokam -330
Luis Cane over Steve Cantwell -280
Kongo over Hardonk -270

Bet 50 to win 114.44

I forgot to mention I am not a huge spender. I know some guys throw a grand here and there. I bet in levels of 50,100,150. This is why it is hard for me to bet any straight favorites or bet too many straight underdogs.

Any Tips or observations from betting the sport would be appreciated.

Denis Kang has been fighting well below his skill level lately for whatever reason and Xavier has knockout power. That's the only one that worries me.

For instance, Kang is an incredible BJJ ground fighter and just got submitted by a knockout guy (Belcher) by simply being careless as hell on a takedown.

I hear ya. I was hoping for Kang to come in and be the next big thing and he disappointed. He is still a very talented fighter. He promises to show that he does have the ability everyone has said he has. That was careless, but that loss makes me believe he will come back stronger this time and not make the same mistake.

That and I don't know much about this other guy he is facing.

Also after watching more of Luis Cane's matches I am hesitant on him. He is a beast at times and other times it seems like he waits around. I'm iffy on him now.

I do think A. Silva inside the distance is a great value.

I think Cane has a lot more value @ -270 than Kongo at -270. Hardonk is a tough guy with good stand up, it should be a very close fight. Cane has extremely dynamics stand-up and is basically undefeated, with his only loss coming from a DQ against Irvin. Just my opinion.

would have been golden if anderson silva wasnt a complete tool. i dont get this guy. maybe he needs to be put in the octagon with rampage or rashad or someone who will come at him and make him actually fight.

gl with ufc 98. i think matt hughes, okami, sherk is a solid parlay. 1.73 to 1

No. didn't end up betting anything.

Since I am new to MMA betting I decided to keep track of what I would bet each event. Kind of like play money. And then do this until I seem to get the hang of what hits and what is risky and so on..

Anderson inside distance was my biggest lock of that parlay. I would have figured he would straight up lose before he won a UD.

After my first play money betting I have learned not to bet on Anderson doing anything anymore.

All the other plays were pretty easy. Cantwell gave Cane more of a fight than I thought he would though.
