Cant say I agree with you. There os a ton of talent on these cards imo. You may not have the many mega stars, but many of the aging UFC stars are not the most talented fighters anymore.

look like complete duds imo.

MAIN CARD (Televised)

  • Diego Sanchez vs. Joe Stevenson - i think this is a worthy headling bout, esp. for a card on spike. Stevenson was fighting for the LW championship this time last yr. He needs a win bad after 2 L's in 07, and I am very intrigued by Sanchez at lightweight, not to mention I think his standup game has been evolving and he has looked real exploxive last few fights.
  • Dan Hardy vs. Rory Markham - dont have a ton to say here but i know both guys always bring it and are well rounded.
  • Wilson Gouveia vs. Nate Marquardt - when gouveia is in shape his is world class. his fight against reljic was awsome, has looked good of late. Marquardt may be the #2 mw in division imo.
  • Demian Maia vs. Chael Sonnen - wec mw champ, looked great against filho (or maybe filho just looked that bad), but i love watching bjj guys like maia. He has been nothing short of amazing in the ufc. The way he implements his game on people is something to watch. Best mma bbj around imo. Maybe i just appreciate a good jits game more than the average guy.
  • Josh Koscheck vs. Paulo Thiago - kos fights in last 1.5 yrs have been real exciting to me. Hazlett fight was awsome, Alves, GSP Yoshida, cant complain. UFC clearly has an eye for talent and in most cases when they bring a guy in and put him imediatly against contenders, these guys come to fight.
PRELIMINARY CARD (Un-televised)
  • Junior dos Santos vs. Stefan Struve - second look at dos santos. for all we know, may be looking at a future hw champ. nog says great standup, showed against werdum. like to see more.
  • Justin Buchholz vs. Terry Etim - fight mag. has buchholz as one of there up and comers to watch and etim is an exciting stand up guy who comes to bang.
  • Shannon Gugerty vs. Tom Lawson - gugerty fighting for his job
  • Paul Kelly vs. Troy Mandaloniz - kelly has a ufc fight of night uner his belt.
  • Neil Grove vs. Justin McCully - mccully has been around for years and if he continues to win, he deserves to be there but not a thrilling fight to me

Honestly, you would think this card is awaiting a nice main event. The UFC usually puts on a great card in columbus. I think i nice main event and this card is great, if not could be better.

  • Shane Carwin vs. Gabriel Gonzaga - winner of this fight is a fight away from matchup with mir/lesner winner. If one guy looks great or they put on a FON performance, maybe winner steps right in. Carwin is a monster, bigger gloves than lesnar.
  • Matt Hamill vs. Mark Munoz- Hamill continues to evolve and deserves to be on a main card. He always brings it and hard to say the last time he was in a "boring" fight. UFC real high on Munoz, signed him over from WEC before WEC even folded the MW division, but gave him another tune up over there. He is a former D1 Nat'l Champ Wrestler.
  • Dustin Hazelett vs. Ben Saunders Hazelett in a fight says enough. What does he have, 3 straight sub of the night performances. Ssunders looked great last time out.
  • Mike Patt vs. Brandon Vera - Vera, hmmmm, dont know what to say about him right now. and dont know Patt
  • Gray Maynard vs. Jim Miller - This is a very intriging matchup imo. Miller looked exceptional on one week notice vs. wiman and cost me some coin. Maynard is coming of great wins against Edgar and Clementi. Both these guys are big wrestler types and I think they are about 2/3 wins from a title shot depending on who defeats who and who they get next time out.
  • Tim Boetsch vs. Jason Brilz
  • Jason Day vs. Kendall Grove - I am a Grove fan and he appears to be rededicated. Last fight out he was in the main event. Day will bring it, has some nice wins on the regional circuits up north and a win over Belcher in UFC.
  • Ryan Jensen vs. Steve Steinbeiss
  • Matt Brown vs. TBA - Matt Brown fights have been great in the UFC. He brings it.
  • David Bielkheden vs. TBA
  • Shane Nelson vs. Aaron Riley -Riley coming off FON performance
i'm not buying these shitbag ppv's. all the talent they have and they feed this bullshit. theres a couple fights i like but not nearly enough for me to pay for. yawn.

In all, maybe I am just easy to please. But, I dont really mind buying ppvs.
-When I go to the movies with my fiancee I always get popcorn and it cost 30 bucks.
- I went out for the Natl Champ the other night and payed 17 bucks to park in hoboken cause couldnt find a spot, bought a round of beer and wings and spent over 50 bucks.
- Out to dinner with my Girl, prolly pushin 100.
- Stay in rent a movie and drink a bottle of wine is pushing 20 with cheap wine.

My point is that I am thoroughly entertained by every UFC ppv and considering the other forms of entertainment I spend my money on, not to mention that I have no problem at all putting 50 dollars on a frickin SW Mis St basketball game, I find it hard to complain about what they have coming up.

I am actually pretty excited.

look for the UFC to add Evans vs Jackson to the 96 card, I don't have a source but it's the rumor going around, and frankly the UFC needs a huge fight like this to save the card.
