Lyoto Machida -220
Lyoto Machida -220
Vitor Belfort’s original retirement fight plans didn’t go exactly as planned. But, now set to retire in a home bout against a fellow ex-champ, it’s all silver linings for “The Phenom.”
Belfort was supposed to have met Uriah Hall in a UFC Fight Night 124 encounter in January. It had long been known that Belfort had only one fight left on his UFC contract after a UFC 212 win over Nate Maquardt and, ahead of the meeting with Hall, “The Phenom” confirmed it would also be the final fight of his MMA career.
As we know, Belfort got as far as making weight, but the middleweight encounter was scrapped after Hall fell ill.
I don't think we are going to see anything Phenomenal at 224 in this fight. TRT Vitor was the best version of Belfort, in his prime he was taking TRT injection every day, The amount of test they were allowed to have in their systems before USADA was absurd. He has been nocked out in 3 of his last 4 fights. This is a pitty party for a fighter who never should have been. He looked slow as shit and his kicks has no power behind them and he body looked like a melting candle vs Nate Marquardt. TRT Belfor beat Dan Henderson and Luke Rockhold. I'm way more wary of fighters taking ban substances outside of the US but, I cant see Machida at home tarnishing his record and future for legacy someone who was caught. Worth the chalk.
Rare night when I like this many fights.
John Lineker -245
Lineker is just too good, he really went toe to toe with T.J. Dillashaw and he was the more creative fighter. John Lineker had a solid win over Marlon Vera who beat Brian Kelleher. Brian Kelleher beat Renan Barão in has last fight, but the wheel are comming off Barão; im a little suspect that Kelleher chin is wearing down, he does not have great hand speed and has changed his game to fight people like John Lineker but he comes up short.
