lol, yeah they're gonna part ways with 1 of the best fighters in the world. That would be an awesome business strategy for them....
You don't owe the organization anything, you fight for a living. UFC makes plenty of money when he fights, doesn't mean they can make him fight whenever/whoever they want.
I don't think you understand how I was saying "you don't fight for an organization" it obviously wasn't in the literal sense, you must be confused.
He isn't a slave, sorry. Get over it...
Jones does have too much leverage at this point to be cut. Higher level guys have more say so in bout agreements. Lower level guys usually have to go with what the UFC matchmaker puts in front of them because they are trying to stay with the company and get close to title contention.
In my post I acknowledged (as Dana did) the UFC can't force fights, and I don't think Jones or any fighter is a "slave" The thing is though Jones had a camp and was in shape and ready to fight. Henderson got hurt and they found Chael as a replacement. If Jones said yes, then card saved...PPV & gate $ saved...ad's/promo not wasted and undercard fighters paid (even if the UFC is stupid for too many watered down cards etc...)
Jones had a chance to do a FAVOR (not forced!!!) for his company that gave him the opportunity to become rich. He chose not to which is his right. I just think Chael was not a HUGE threat to beat Jones and even if he did, Jones could have stipulated an immediate rematch/share of PPV $ etc... He should have had the confidence to fight Chael, beat him and he would have made a lot of hay for himself with the UFC and fans IMO.
Oh:
"UFC makes plenty of money when he fights" Dana and I agree with you...THAT'S WHY WE WANTED HIM TO STILL FIGHT!!!
