With the UFC 101 fight card so close, chances are you've read your analysis and maybe even made your picks for the Anderson Silva/Forrest Griffin fight. And, chances are, you picked Silva, who's as much as a -400 favorite at some books now. Assuming he beats Griffin -- and we will -- what's next? Let's make predictions for The Spider's future.

Middleweight title defense vs Dan Henderson

Hendo has worked his way back up the middleweight ranks and wants the title badly. He's confident as ever after his devastating knockout of Michael Bisping, but I see this fight playing out similarly to the first Silva/Henderson bout. Henderson will give Silva a good run but should also bring out the best in him and probably get submitted.

Catchweight fight against Wanderlei Silva

Apparently they've always wanted to fight each other and, by this point, I assume Wandy will fight his final bout against his fellow Brazilian. It will end like the Detroit Lions' NFL odds for Wandy -- not very well.

Catchweight fight against George St-Pierre

At this point, maybe Silva relinquishes his dusty middleweight belt; I'm betting management at UFC forces him to. Then I think we finally get to see the legendary St-Pierre/Silva bout. The younger GSP prevails, ending Silva's win streak at 12.

Light heavyweight fight against Lyoto Machida

I don't know if it would be a title fight, but maybe. I think Machida will still be champ by this point and he'd make a great opponent for Silva. Let's say Silva finds a way to penetrate Machida's defense and hand him his first career loss. It would be a fitting end to Silva's career.

After that, maybe a boxing match with Roy Jones Jr? It's rumored. First, of course, Silva has to get past Forrest Griffin at UFC 101. He should do so using his superior speed, knockout power, ground game and evasiveness.

GSP has said he'd need a year or so to train for a fight above his normal weight class so I don't think he ever see him go against Anderson.

Henderson is almost a certainty but if Maia gets by Marquardt, that's another championship fight for Anderson.

Him and Lyoto would be a great retirement fight for Anderson if Machida still has his LHW belt and Anderson still has his at MW.

Lyoto will never fight Anderson. Dana can say what he wants but he knows to Brazilians on the top of the card would not draw. Maia poses a threat to Anderson but Dana seems dead set on giving Hendo another crack.

Well another reason why they won't ever fight is because they are friends and training partners.

I thought the whole plan was for Wandy to come into the division to fight Silva (as opposed to catch weight)? Weren't there reports that Anderson was a bit steamed about his former team member coming for his belt?

Well, Henderson has a case considering he's beaten Rousimar Polhares, Rich Franklin, and Michael Bisping since his loss. Maia has 5 straight UFC wins but I'm not sure any of the guys he has beat if as good as any of the last 3 Henderson victories. Maia/Marquardt winner gets the shot after Henderson.

Yeah those two aren't best buddies lately. I think they both respect each other though...

You are wrong here...

Belfort is next in line. Vitor/Silva is a money match. Dana will not miss out on that one.

Vitor after one win? I can't see it happening.

You need to open your ears Jake...

Dana already said on a UFC telecast a few months back he was bringing in Vitor to fight Anderson.

You'd have to be smoking crack to think that Maia or Marquardt has a tenth of the drawing power that Vitor does.

Leites and Cote don't have anymore drawing power than Maia/Marquardt and they got title shots.

Okami is somewhere in the mix too for the next shot. Poor fucker has won 7 of his 8 UFC fights and was the last person to beat Silva (although it was a DQ but with Okami on top).

TLeites and Cote were the only two left to fight him. 185 is very shallow outside of who Anderson has beaten.

I know Griffin was +250 vs Rampage...Just curious, anyone know what he was when he beat Rua at UFC 76, what about vs Ortiz at UFC 60 or so when he barely lost?

He has always shined as an underdog, much like Couture did..
