Udonis Haslem Takes Less Money To Resign with Heat....

I have to applaud Haslem for doing this. Other teams, notably Cleveland and Atlanta, offered him between 10-15 million more over the course of the contract. However, he decided to be loyal to the team that gave him his "first chance". He also wanted to stay home and play where he grew up. For those of you who don't know, Haslem won a championship at Miami High. In the age of the athlete who just takes as much money as possible, even it it means losing game after game, Udonis Haslem should be applauded for re-upping with the Heat.

He is in the perfect situation and is a big asset to the Heat.

Staying close to home and playing with Shaq and Wade is well worth the money he passed on.

sb, I also admire him for this move. As he wants a ring, wants to be home, and is loyal to the team that took a chance on him..he's great Gator and wants to ride with fellow SEC man Shaq(LSU) to a title.

Also, Shaq is reportedly close to signing a 5 yr $125 mil extension. What a team player he is too. Look at the discount he gave you guys, $25 mil per as opposed to the $30 mil per the Lakers offered. :lolBIG: Prepare to be severely over the cap for the next 5 yrs.

If I can make $33 million in Miami, I'm not moving to Cleveland for $43 million. I'm not moving to Cleveland for $50 million. $60 million? Maybe.
