Anybody catch the missed call by the officials on the last play???

-no not a foul....

-rewind the TIVO and watch when Maynor first gets the ball in the frontcourt--when he takes his first dribble his back foot is CLEALRY on the midcourt line which is OVER and BACK. Trail official is right there--OOPS

I'm pretty sure it's the ball that has to cross over the line. The body is allowed to cross over the line, but the ball is not. Therefore if the ball did not cross over the line it is not a violation

guys please... having the back heel of one foot on the line isn't over and back. Like someone else said it's about the ball.

Wrong answer ! If you step over the line.. it's over and back !

What a disappointment. I was totally expecting Duke-VCU part 2.

Seeing as I referee college basketball-I will tell you that you are 100% wrong. He could be laying down and have a ponytail touch the line and it is Over and Back. Can also be the ball-but that was a total Over and Back

This isn't true. Once in the frontcourt, the mid court line is like an out of bounds line. Therefore, if touched, like an out of bounds line, it is a violation.

The midcourt line is not a goal-line. Those who think it's the ball are nuts.

Why do you think everyone checks their feet before they catch ball close to it?

As was said above, the halfcourt line is the out of bounds line once the player COMPLETELY crosses it. Meaning, any part of the body or ball that touches the line or crosses it results in a turnover.

Did not see the play in question. The rule was changed several years ago All 3 points must be over the line simultaneously, before an over & back violation is made. The "3" are both feet and the ball. The ball and or either foot can cross, as long as the 3rd part has not, it is not a violation. It can be confusing to look at, for refs, coaches, fans and players. The previous rule created a violation, if any single part went over and then came back.
