Auburn was Zombies last year. Banged up and didn’t care. That’s why they curb stomped Purdue because of the attitude and flack they caught last year not giving 100% in bowl game

Milton absolutely would have made a difference.

Mack instead of Milton, that proves last year was a fluke?

Serbone, you're smarter than that.

Albatross your comment is equally ridiculous

Mack was terrible for 95% of the game.

Its a forum, people give their opinions. Thats who the hell I am.

I didn't start the thread, I'm joining the discussion. Instead of acting like an asshole, just agree to disagree.
my point is to divert your attention away from some strawman argument nobody cares about aka hypothetical milton being in the game and winning against a depleted lsu defense doesn't prove anything. it doesn't strengthen the resume for UCF's case to be in the playoffs nor does it justify their competitiveness in a conference like the SEC

Knight Auburn was not motivated last year just like Michigan was not motivated this year. In both cases each team had their season destroyed in their previous game. It is a very good handicapping tool to bet against the loser a conference championship game. Especially when it takes away the chance to get into the CFP. All that being said UCF beat Auburn. No excuses. UCF is a good team. My contention is if they played in a major conference would probably be a two of three loss team. It is much easier to get up for a one game schedule than to beat several teams in the same year. That was my argument when Boise State was making there runs a few years ago. They would point to their victories over major conference teams, but it would be only one game each year not multiple victories each year. I think the lack of depth and size would catch up with them over the course of the year.

put Ucf in a major conference and I agree, they would have some losses. However put them in a major conference, and they would increase their revenue by a zillion and would have better recruiting classes which would bring them better players.

Its all relative

The playoffs are 4 teams, not just Alabama. Or Clemson.

After those two teams, you can include many.

UCF would absolutely give the other two teams, ND and OK a game and with Milton have a good shot at beating them.

They aren't competitive with the top 2 teams, most aren't.

agreed 100%

Again.

The comment that started this string specifically referred to Milton being out.

"If they had their QB.....hehe.

If LSU had their starters UCF might not have gotten over 100 yards of offense.

See....its that simple."

There is no strawman. Again, I was responding to the original comment.

I never mentioned the playoffs. You've added multiple strawman points that I never mentioned. Playoffs, competitiveness in a major conference.

I made one comment, about the QB, and as much as it hurts you its just a fact to anyone that watched that game today and has watched UCF the past two seasons.

The discussion was about the game and Milton's absence. You turned into an entirely different discussion.

If Milton played vs LSU’s defense who played today, then UCF wins.

If milton plays vs LSU’s 1st team defense, then who knows??

if UCF played ANY team 5 times then ONLY Clemson and Bama would beat UCF 5 out of 5 times.
