I haven't really been following this tournament much, but I did notice something when taking a look at the games today.


Argentina vs Netherlands are fighting for 3rd/4th place.


After checking the tables, I noticed that the last time these two met was on 03-06-09 (in similar situation, Argentina considered home team, Netherlands away team) and the result was: Argentina 4-0 Netherlands


A whopping 4-0 blowout for Argentina, now, what confuses me:


Argentina ML is sitting at -105 and the under 2.5 is favored @ -140


How could this be? I mean I know it's a match for 3rd/4th place so it's not that big of a deal for these teams, I can see a 1-0 or 2-0 match.


Why is the Argentina ML at only -105?


For me this is a STEAL and I'm willing to drop 1 big f*ckin unit on this as soon, can anyone talk me out of it?

Here's some fun facts:

This is the 3rd place playoff as the Dutch will try to exact revenge for their heavy beating in the group stages by the same opponent. Netherlands U20 side might suffer the same fate though as they do not have the same quality required to compete. However they might be able to turn the tables on their opponents in this third place playoff soccer match between Netherlands U20 and Argentina U20 at Stade Mayol because of the latter’s disappointment at having failed to reach the final.


The Argentina U20 side will be devastated after having been eliminated on penalties in the semi finals. The Argentina U20 side might have a hard time picking themselves up after that blow. If they manage to do so though it should be a relatively straightforward win.

I guess the bookies think that the U20 Argentinians are still devastated from losing in the semi-finals that they will not be able to pick up a win here, but I think otherwise.

Agreed, tough to really cap these games but just from previous game (4-0 blowout) I really think Argentina has the talent here, Dutchmen have no chance.


Those Argentinians are like speedy gonzales x 2 especially with all the yayo they got.
