Tyson: 'I hate my life'

NEW YORK (AP) - Mike Tyson says he has lost his soul as a human being and hates himself.
"Maybe in my next life, I'll have a better life," Tyson said in an interview for Fox Sports Net's 'Beyond the Glory,' to be broadcast July 16. "And that's why I'm just looking forward to go to the other world. 'Cause I really hate the way I live now. And I hate my life now."
Tyson's former wife, actress Robin Givens, also talks about being abused by the boxer.
According to transcripts of the show, Givens says Tyson would choke and kick her, often causing her to vomit. He would then begin to cry while she consoled him.
"It just started getting dangerous," Givens said.
Both Tyson and Givens acknowledged that repeated infidelities on Tyson's part put a strain on the one-year marriage.
The couple divorced in 1989.
Last month, Tyson was charged with misdemeanor assault after fighting with two men outside a Brooklyn hotel. He is due in court July 24.

I was watching Tyson-Holmes tape the other day..I believe it was 1987...Tyson looked unbeatable and Rooney was in his corner..He had the world at his feet..Beat Biggs, then Holmes..Sad story..All that talent..

The only difference between Mike Tyson and a simple street thug is that he could beat up people better. The overanalysis of Tyson by sports writers and media is driven by that single fact. I don't wish him ill, I don't wish him well - I just no longer care a turd about him either way. Too many people have life too tough to be concerned about this thug and how and what he thinks about his life. I don't want to hear yet again the stories of his hard youth - too many years of it with no change.

This is really a sad ordeal. Just attributed to the people he associated himself with early. I do not like Mike but there is a bit of sorrow from me to see it all go like it has. When he went againt Douglas and lost I was in Japan. The man was an idol & all downhill after that.
