Edmonton +1.55 over PHILADELPHIA
Yeah, the Flyers have turned things around with four wins in a row but that might not be as impressive as it sounds. You see, the four wins came against Atlanta, NYI and a banged up New Jersey team twice and that still leaves plenty to be desired. Don’t get me wrong, as a win is a win is a win, however, this price is definitely jacked up a bit too much, making the Oilers a very worthy play. Edmonton is coming off back-to-back strong efforts and were rewarded with a win yesterday in Carolina. They still haven’t come close to peaking yet and the guys that they’re relying on to score haven’t been. They should get plenty of chances here against a Flyer defense that has been anything but impressive. Philly has one of the worst GAA in the league and in fact, they’ve allowed 10 more goals then the Oilers in the same number of games. The situation for the Oilers is not so great, as they’re playing their third game in four days and the tail end of back-to-back afternoon games and if you’re on board for this game you should be aware of that. Still, the Oilers offer up some decent value here and these young players early in the season should not be impacted too much by a heavy workload. Besides, one win does wonders for team morale. Play: Edmonton +1.55 (Risking 2 units).

Toronto +1.47 over CAROLINA
If the Oilers are taking back +1.55 because of playing three games in four days and back-to-back matinee affairs then why the hell are the Canes such a big price over the Leafs under the same conditions? That fact alone makes the Maple Leafs a very live pooch in this one but more then that is the Leafs are playing way too good to ignore at this price. I’m sorry I missed out on the Leafs last night but there’s no chance I’ll miss out on them here. The Leafs are beating up and dominating everyone they play on the road and there’s no doubt this is their easiest road assignment to date after playing Detroit, the Rangers, Pittsburgh and New Jersey. Carolina’s defense is suspect at best and that means the Leafs relentless forecheck will cause the Canes to make mistake after mistake after mistake. The Leafs are playing with more determination and passion then anyone in the league and their doing it every single night. This team can’t wait to get back on the ice and if you make one bet in the NHL today, this should be it, as it’s a ridiculous take-back on the better team in a better situation. Play: Toronto +1.47 (Risking 2 units).
