1) Which sport do you prefer without betting involved,NHL or NBA?

2) Which sport would you rather bet NHL or NBA?

The reason I ask is, TV ratings were down like 34% or somthing for the NBA finals.

Myself being a northeast guy prefer NHL.

Stanley cup playoffs are way bettor than NBA, IMO.

Betting the NHL is like baseball too with the money line.

NBA betting is a crap shoot. The teams play a totally differnet game of fouling for the last minute. a 2 point lead ballons to 7 on nothing more than free throws. Can't think of a sport I enjoy watching less than NBA. Same goes for wagering.

NBA sucks!

NHL is good to bet on, horrible to watch on TV, GREAT in person!

NHL to both as well. Just easier on the heart to watch then basketball when you can lose your cover in a bad minute of play.

Rather watch: NBA

Rather bet: NHL

The NBA Finals were down in ratings because of the 2 teams involved. You couldn't ask for a more boring matchup. If it would have been Phoenix and Miami, it would have been a completely different story.

I perfer to be on the NBA more than the NHL, but I do bet both.

Regular season NHL is hard to watch for me, the intensity level just isn't there. Not that regular season NBA is that much better, but it's more watchable.

Come playoff time, I'm glued to my NHL playoffs. I think it's the best playoffs to watch. Dramatic moments everywhere, and some of the most awsome goaltender saves you'll ever see in your life! Mad intensity, every game.

More than that...last year, Lakers were in the Finals. Not even Heat/Suns could compete with the ratings power of Lakers, Shaq, and Kobe.

Watch and bet NHL. NBA seems much more boring to watch on tv. Homedogs in hockey are money in the bank. :toothless

Nothing wrong with the NBA that more T.V. commercials and timeouts couldn’t fix.

NHL is far more entertaining and one of the greatest betting opportunities on the board.

Now let’s get a deal done and drop the damn puck.

An LA or NY team will always get better ratings...my comparison was just between what could of happened this year. Of the 4 teams in the conference finals, the 2 most boring survived.

Shaq and Wade brought plenty of star power while Nash (MVP), Stoudamire, and the potent Phoenix offense would have had very nice ratings. But I agree that the NBA would always benefit more from a big market city like LA or NY being in the Finals.

I grew up in Canada so number 1 is a no brainer for me. Hockey all the way.

As for betting I'd say NBA, though, because the effective juice is lower. In NHL it seems most shops have the same plain vanilla lines with Pinnacle being the only exception. And Pinny's lines are sharp and hard to beat in Hockey, or so I've experienced.

The NBA is ON ABC and not ESPN for the finals for a major reason: They stall the playoffs until June when May sweeps are over. They are not far away from the 80's days of 11:30pm tape delay:BASCKET:

NHL without a doubt to watch, but if more teams take the example of my Suns this year that could change. Tons of talent in the NBA that is up and coming, but still far too many guys make a living being a defense/rebounder and not a skilled hoops player. After all would you take a guy like Bruce Bowen or Ben Wallace in a one on one game with just about anyone? Guys like that make a good living in the NBA and coaches love them, but they make for lousy TV viewing.

Betting I am ambivalent. I like NHL betting regular season, but not a big bettor in the postseason because the endless string of one goal games mean winners are decided too much on luck and bounces. I bet the NBA regularly, but totals gets about 75% of my action. I don't care either way, both have beatable spots.
