Cav's + 6.5 (3 units), my math model has them losing by 3. Cav's are also better w/Mo Williams and are 5-1 L6 in Boston and 5-0 L5. Celtics 92-89

Bull's Over 194 (5 units), these teams are 5-0 on the over L5 in Chicago and with the additions of Rose and Jefferson/Alexander into the mix with Skiles coming back to chi town, you can expect some fireworks. Bulls 102-97

Bulls total is up to 195 and may hit 196 by gametime....

Thanks rolltide, the Cav's will be much more hungry and returning champs usually have an ats letdown the first 30 games back. :toast:

Adding Blazers +8 (3 units), look for the Blazers to keep this one close as they are 5-0 ats L5 @ Lakers. There is always more pressure on home teams in there opener as well. Lakers 101 - 95

wow, so you think the Lakers will win by 6 and that means Portland is the play at +8? Doesn't makemuch sense.

hognostigator, why does it not make sense? In the nba many games and especially covers are decided by a point or two. Whether a team covers the spread by 1 point or 10 points, it only matters that you are on the right side, in this case the Blazers.

My 5 unit on the Bulls over went up to 198 by tipoff, I gave that out @ 194 last night. They are 88-80 with 9 minutes to go in the 4th with a projected over 206.

Just my opinion, but I only like to take single digit underdogs that I think can win the game. If I thought the Lakers were going to win by 6, I would have a hard time taking Portland +8. I had Cleveland +6 tonight and it was close but I thought Cleveland had a good shot to win the game. That's why I played them. You're right, a lot of NBA games are very close to the number. I guess I just have a different view than you. Good luck.

....Well a 6 point loss is just a 2 possession difference at the end of a game, another reason i liked the Blazers is their track record against them. I'm not a strictly trends player but in the NBA it seems a little more telling than in other sports. G/L to you too Hognosticator, I usually have a very profitable NBA season around 67% winners last 5 years. :toast:

2-0 (+8 units) so far and Blazers should make a run for back door. It's about time Roy made a basket 1:28 left in 2nd.

Miamiboy, I would take Blazers -1.5 second half if I had to choose. The Lakers are playing excellent defense along with Roy shooting very cold. Even if Roy heats up, Colby is due in the second half, he was off as well.

I still think Blazers have a shot to cover the +8 with a good run in the 3rd, depends on if Lakers letdown defensively, after big 1st half. G/L
