When I looked, I prefered getting a place in Rhomoser, near AID behind the US embassy. It's a straight shot down that road acr-o-ss los anonos bridge into Sabana Oeste/Sur, very little traffic. Apts and houses for rent $600-800/mo range.

The two are relatively small apartments, located on a second floor with a small balcony.

Asking rent price for the two bedroom apt. is 115,000 colones per month, roughly $272 per month. The Water and Electric utility bills are included in the rent. Apartment comes with a telephone line, which you pay for separately.
