TV's Most Memorable Theme Songs...

Back in the day, TV shows sure seemed to spend alot more time on the theme songs that associated the audience with the show.....Some of these songs even became radio hits, such as "Greatest American Hero" and "Welcome Back Kotter".....

here are some of my favorites from over the years, for different reasons....i think you'll be amazed just how many you can remember all the words to........some were very clever and well written, and many were sung by stars on the show....

one of the best and most memorable of all, was this theme.......It is reported that they budget for the pilot (which was NOT expected to be a big hit) was small and therefore the actors were asked to perform the song live before the show to save money......Jean Stapleton knew how to play piano and they winged it...

The rest is history, for one of the most beloved sitcoms of all time...

The theme for Kotter was a top 40 hit, and helped draw attention to the show about the misfits in Mr Kotter's class...

not quite as successful of a show, however the theme sung by the star here was actually a pretty good song.....she was a talented singer before becoming an actress anyway....she is known for broadway, so it fit...
