I haven't done this in a while because the times where I do post end up to be losing nights. I like to consider myself as scientific and not at all superstitious but it happened without fail so I avoided it. Whatever I said was said by others anyway in other threads. K-1 doesn't get too much attention/discussion so I'm gonna post my bets.
Hari over Overeem -200 (4u to win 2u) Woulda bet more but maxed bet my outs.
Hari is probably the best in the HW division in K-1 now. Overeem has two K-1 fights many many years ago and is 0-2. This is a tune-up fight that FEG is giving Hari for an easy W so they can set up another fight with Remy later.
Nakamura over Tokoro -110 (2.2u to win 2u)
Nakamura is a big LW and was able to outpower a very strong Byu-kung jung (I think that's his name). He's also got some nice submission skills and power in his punches. Tokoro is a featherweight and has been fighting other FWs and bantamweights lately. He should be outmatched wherever the fight goes IMO. Another plus is that fellow U-File campmate and mentor Tamura recently beat Tokoro and they should have a good plan ready for D. Nak.
Crocop over HMC -200 (2u to win 1u)
HMC has stated publicly in the last couple of days that he's not in good health coming into this fight (that's a new one). He looked really really horrible his last fight. I think he might be showing up to pick up a check. In the past year HMC has gone through surgery and has posted suicidal emo stuff on his blog. He isn't there mentally. I expect a boring fight where CC peppers HMC with random blows every now and then to win a decision.
Tamura over Saku +115 (1u to win 1.15u)
Tamura is the best fighter in the Japanese 'Senior Circuit.' He rolled Minowa and Funaki. He should've beat Taiei Kin but Kin got a lucky decision. 4 or 5 years ago, Saku would've beaten Tamura, but Saku is now shot whereas Tamura is in good shape. Right now, Tamura is better than Saku in every respect. Only problem here is that FEG hates Tamura and we might see some bias in judging or reffing towards Saku.
JZ over Hansen -130 (.65u to win .5u)
Hansen is a small LW. JZ is one of the biggest LW there is and he has more power and stronger wrestling. Hansen will have to be really slick in order to pull off a submission here. Even Aoki was not able to sub JZ since he was strong enough to power out of them. Aoki is a big LW and even his superior grappling skills only allowed him to hold on for a decision victory. Hansen doesn't have the tools to beat JZ.
Aoki over Alvarez +110 (.5u to win .55u)
Aoki can tie up anybody if he's fresh. When he can't, as we saw against Hansen, he eventually becomes a target. Alvarez has all the world backing him since he had the most exciting and impressive run in the LW GP. The secret is out on him, however, as he's not the underdog like he was the previous 2 fights. Exciting does not win fights however. Alvarez lacks submission defense and was getting a JJ lesson from Hansen in the second round of their fight. Aoki in the same situation wouldn't have let Alvarez escape once he got a hold of him. Aoki rides him out here if he's able to jump guard or get Alvarez down. This is a small bet because there's a good chance that Eddie will blast Aoki before he's able to tie Eddie up.
Good luck and happy new year to all!
