15.5 Is a pretty meaningless number. A little sharp money must have come in on the Sooners today. Maybe looking for a buy-back if the public decides to hit OU and push it past 17. Wouldn't lay over 14 if it was me. Just a thought. BBB

I have looked at this game long and hard. I would suggest pulling up the stakes and moving far away. Which OU will we see. I have read inside reports saying this team is now out to prove they are the real deal. Landry Jones looks rather solid. The Oline totally got revamped from week 1 to week 2 (which looked great against Idaho st. but they are Idaho st.) They return Habern on OLine which puts their blocking tight end back to his native position. Tulsa has a knack for making OU games close. But I think OU has a chip on its' shoulder and want's to prove they are back. The defense has looked fierce so far, allowing only a combined 26 yards rushing in the first 2 games of play. OU by 31 (my homer pick)

line move is baffling me...without Bradford and Grisham people are still lining up to play Oklahoma like they already know the final score..:think2:

as good as Stoops is Graham is better and he will have his boys ready...whether or not they cover remains to be seen, but the ain't no easy win ATS...

The problem for Tulsa will be stopping the OU running game and the other problem is going to be keep the OU D out of their back field.

Personally, like OU to cover the number in this game. I see 38-17 type of game.

didn't people say the same thing about the BYU game? I saw issues with the OU O-Line, QB play, TE play and receivers dropping balls, not to mention the entire OU offense not being in sync...Tulsa is not a sister of the poor, these guys are as well-coached of a team as there is in the country and they will have a good game plan for OU...

Pags...The reason that I don't like a side in this game is because I think OU's defense is capable of shutting out Tulsa in this game, which means the Sooners offense won't have to score many points to cover. The problem I have with the OU offense is trying to find an identity with new OL, WR's and QB. They need to play harder and smarter in this game than they did vs BYU. And I'm not THAT sure how much they improved from the repetitions they got in their scrimmage against Idaho St. Now if the game was being played in Tulsa I would be a little worried. But you have to ask yourself, how much would OU be favored by if Bradford was playing? I'm guessing around -24. And then you have to ask yourself, how much is the QB worth in this game? More than a TD?

gosooners,

respect your thoughts on the game although as good as OU's defense is its going to be hard to shut out this Tulsa squad, very hard in fact...we both see issues with OU's offense and I think the Tulsa D is coming into this game underrated...Bradford AND Gresham are worth a TD together yes, the two of them are the two biggest keys to that offense...

Pags...I don't think this Tulsa offense is as good as the BYU offense that scored 14 on OU. Remember, it was Bradford going down and then the Sooners inability to move the ball that cost them the game. OU only ran 57 plays that night, which put a lot of pressure on the OU defense late in the game. I expect the time of possession to go more in OU's favor at home in this game. But I do agree with you about the Tulsa defense. That's why I think this could be a low scoring game. I'm saying could because I don't believe that either of Tulsa's first two opponets Tulane and NM had anywhere close to a pulse on offense.

I truly believe OU can stop the Tulsa Offense. They did hold BYU to 14pts, but the question is without Bradford and Gresham, what can Landry Jones do against Tulsa. He was pathetic against BYU, but excellent against Idaho St. I think Stoops sticks to the running game against Tulsa who had lots of trouble against the run last year. I think OU can beat Tulsa by 18 @ home.

Just my 2 cents.

gosooners,

to be very honest with you BYU's offense played like crap against OU that day...they had at least three turnovers and left at minimum 10 points off the board that day (I know OU left 7 off as well)...my point is that while I respect OU's defense, I don't think Tulsa's offense will play as poorly this weekend as BYU did against them previously...Tulsa has much more balance...

Pags...I think the game comes down to Tulsa's O-Line vs OU's D-Line. If Tulsa doesn't get overwhelmed by OU's defense I think this could be a pretty interesting game. This is the part of the game that I'm just not sure about what will happen. And hate to venture to guess. I certainly can't blame you for taking Tulsa. Especially with this line getting up to 17.5 and even 18 in a few places. If Tulsa can manage to get 14-17 points on the board they'll probably cover this spread.

i think the over would be the play here. ou's defense will give up some points, but with the game being in norman and with stoops getting a little more heat this year than normal, i think he will be out to get a big win. i would be worried about a backdoor cover if i had ou at -17, as i think there will be some junk scores late.

from the stats against idaho st., landry was 18 for 32 passing with 1 pick. not bad numbers, but it was idaho st. also, ou was only 4 of 13 on 3rd down conversions. ryan broyles caught 7 passes, and he does have playmaking ability. at this point, no matter how much i love em, i just can't see laying that many points with ou against a quality team.

tulsa is playing its 3rd straight road game, but its first against a quality opponent. ou has struggled in the past when it comes to containing a qb who can run and pass the ball. this will be kinne's first big test at qb, and i expect him to make a couple mistakes, but i also see him making a couple big plays. ou will have the offensive capability to counter tulsa's scoring.

yes, i see this one going over with some second half scoring. 42-27 ou....
