somethings everyone betting on this game should keep in mind:
1) the crowds at us cellular the last two games have been uncharacteristically LOUD. i mean they are cheering every 2 strike count when we're on the field and they are erupting when we get strikeouts.
2) brooks boyer and the rest of the white sox marketing department are telling everyone attending tomorrow's game to wear black. they're calling it a "blackout" and shirts will be handed out.
3) tomorrow's game has already sold out in less than 3 hours of tickets being available.
4) the white sox pitching has been red hot. im talking about 2005 playoff run, red hot. don't believe me? look back to today's game and the 5th inning. floyd yields the tying run and then with runners at the corners and nobody out, he strikes out the next two guys and gets sheffield to ground into a fielder's choice to end the threat. it reminded me a lot of the 2005 alds vs the red sox in boston when damaso marte loaded the bases and el duque came in and struck out the side.
5) the sox are liking this "do or die" feel. it's the way the players prefer it and the way the manager loves it. unfortunately as a fan, id prefer the blowouts and 10 game leads lol.
and truthfully, last week when the sox faced nick blackburn in minny, ozzie spoke the truth after the game. they let him off the hook. he was floating horrible pitches over the heart of the plate, the sox bats just couldn't do anything. now he comes to us cellular hopefully with the same junk but with different results.
