What an awful way to have a losing day yesterday. As someone who has gambled for a long time I totally understand that you have to take the good with the bad. But I don't care who you are or how long you have gambled, some loses really just stick with you longer than others.
Yesterday the Dbacks blew a 3 run lead in the last 2 innings of play. After sweating out the 10th, 11th and 12th innings we get to the 13th where Cody Ross hits a solo shot and seemingly puts the game away for the Arizona.
But wait just a minute folks before you pop your champagne bottles. Unfortunately that was not going to be the case. The Mets immediately put a runner on 2nd with 1 out in the bottom of the 13th. Instead of going after John Buck and trying to win the game, Former World Series hero and current Jackass Kirk Gibson inexplicably decides to intentionally walk Buck and put the winning run ON BASE rather than attack him at home plate. (Is John Buck now Babe Ruth all of a sudden?) As expected, from there the rest was history. Next play was a sacrifice bunt by the pitcher to put runners on 2nd and 3rd and then a double in the gap to win the game for the Mets. Unreal!!
Kirk Gibson has officially moved to the top of my incompetent sports figures list. Arizona has been crossed off my list of teams to bet on for the rest of the season as we will attempt to find value betting against them but certainly not on them.
That felt good. Now that I am done venting and we can move on to today!!
Hope everyone is having a good one and is ready to cash some winners tonight. 2 plays on the card. Hopefully the dogs will be barking.
Yankees +103 (2 units)
Rockies + 130 (1 unit) - (Believe it or not, outside of Starting Pitching, the Rockies have better numbers than the Dodgers in every major statistical category. Kershaw is a beast but we will take a shot on the Rocks to pull the upset tonight at home)
Good Luck on your plays tonight Ladies and Gentleman, see you all in the winners circle
