4-Unit Play: Take 903 Dodgers -110 over Phillies (7:05 p.m., Tuesday, July 24)
I'm backing the Dodgers over the Phillies with Maeda over Nola. Los Angeles did it again last night, plating 7 runs while extending their run to 14-3 in road games against right-handed starters. LA will face another righty tonight when Aaron Nola takes the hill for the Phillies. While Nola has pitched well at home, facing the Manny Machado-infused lineup is going to be too much to ask in our opinion. Then we add in the outstanding work by Kenta Maeda and we have the recipe for another Dodger victory. Maeda owns a 1.18 road WHIP where he's allowed just 2 HRs in 40 ? IP. Maeda has also allowed just 4 earned runs and 21 base runners with 37 Ks in his last 25 ? IP. The righty hasn't pitched since July 15 and the Dodgers are on a 5-0 run when Maeda has more than one week off between starts. Finally, we expect Maeda to get help from the bats with the Dodgers averaging nearly 6 rpg at right-handers. I'm backing the Dodgers, our Value Beatdown on Tuesday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.
