MLB | Mariners vs Royals
Play on:
Mariners -109 at pinnacle
The Kansas City Royals are heading into this contest a seven-game losing streak after taking a 13-5 loss to the Seattle Mariners in the opener of this series on Monday.
The Mariners have started the season on fire winning 10 of their first 12 games, and I think they'll keep the momentum going Monday night with left-hander Marco Gonzales on the mound. Gonzales (3-0, 3.20 ERA) does not have great ERA through his three career starts against KC, but his last outing against them was a one-run complete-game victory on June 29.
Jakob Junis (1-0, 4.63 ERA) will toe the slab for the Royals, and while he has impressive numbers against Seattle (2-0 with a 0.60 ERA in two career starts), how can anyone be trusted to shut down Seattle right now? We can also note that the Royals bullpen is among the worst in the MLB so far this season with a 2-7 record and an 8.89 ERA.
The Mariners have scored at least five runs in 11 of their 12 games on the season, and either their pitching or hitting (or both?) will get the job done here.
