(559) Sacramento Kings at (560) Phoenix Suns
You will read and hear the major media mouths, frontmen for their networks, call last night's victory by the Kings a easy-peezy rout of the Warriors. The truth is it was anything but. Yes, Walton's crew won by double-digits. But they were double-digit favorites. And yes, they were up by 20-plus in the game but they covered by a two-point bucket in the 111-98 final.
It was one of the worst shooting nights this season for the Warriors. Shooting from beyond the arc. At one point GS was 1-of-20 from the three-point line and they didn't hit a three pointer until their sixteen attempt. The finished 5-of-26 from long range. The Kings were as good as they can be. Sac shot over 50 percent from the arc and 48 percent overall.
The Kings had 22 turnovers and if they turn the ball over 15 times tonight in Phoenix they will have their ass handed to them. Anyone who has watched the Suns and Kings this year will agree with me... the Suns are a better team when these two go head-to-head. Booker owns the backcourt of the Kings and the new look front court of coach Williams tonight in combination with the injuries that Sac is facing in paint is not favorable for the Kings winning the second leg of a back-to-back.
Kings' Richaun Holmes had to leave the win over the Warriors with an injury to his right shoulder. He is questionable for tonight. Unlikely is a more accurate description.
The Kings were already without fellow frontcourt players Bogdan Bogdanovic (sprained right ankle) and Marvin Bagley III (sprained left foot) in the Golden State contest. And the trio are likely to be inactive tonight justifying a play on the Suns minus the touchdown.

(601) Providence at (602) Marquette
The victory over Villanova this past weekend has positioned Marquette in a situation that makes them to be a contender in a deep and talented Big East. Butler, Seton Hall and tonight's foe, Providence, are a perfect 2-0 in league play. M
The 1-1 mark in confernce play, the loss, was on New Years day in Omaha when the Eagles lost to Creighton by a 92-75 final.
Marquette's Achilles that New Year's day was committing twice as many turnovers as the Blue Jays. Thrwo in that Howard scored just 18 points didn't help the Eagles in the final 10 minutes of the second half.
Tonight's game is as close to situationally strong as any others in January. The matchup between Howard and Pipkins should not be called a matchup in truth... it should be and is not fair... not far to the Fryers and Pipkins. Howard will have his way with the Providence point guard.
I will keep tonight's analysis short and to the point. This Fryers team might be 2-0 in league play but they are suspect on any give night considering their poor shooting percentage as of late. In particular Dialo who is makingf just 1-of-5 of this three-point attempts.
Marquette in a rout tonight.
