Greg Maddux has quietly compiled a solid season. While he hasnt had any jaw dropping starts hes been very very consistent. The same cant be said for Scott Kazmir. While he looked to be on the brink of becoming an ace in the league he hasnt showed any real signs of improvement from last year. His control seems worse off this year he is still unable to go deep into games and his walks have been up. While Kaz may be able to hold down the Padres I dont believe his pen will be able to back him if he goes his usual 5-6 inning outings. In a battle of pens the Padres beat the Rays in a landslide. Im backing the team with solid pitching which has also shown the capability of winning on a consistent basis. Padres for 3 units.
