KEY STAT: Celtic have scored at least two goals in each of their last five matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Malmo have won their last five Champions League qualifying second legs and will be hopeful of reaching the group stage after scoring twice in a narrow 3-2 defeat at Celtic Park last week. The Bhoys are also scoring for fun, so bet on an entertaining encounter.

RECOMMENDATION: Both teams to score

KEY STAT: Luton have yet to win a league match this term

EXPERT VERDICT: An excellent win over Championship outfit Bristol City put League Two Luton into the second round of the League Cup, but they haven’t been good enough in the league to be trusted to stun Stoke. Stoke have been rock-solid and have the strength in depth to progress even if they rest players.

RECOMMENDATION: Stoke

EXPERT VERDICT: Man United lead the tie 3-1 after the first leg and bookmakers expect them to cruise into the group stage with few concerns. That appears fair but United got a scare in the first game when they went a goal down and this clash could throw up a few nervy moments too.

RECOMMENDATION: Both teams to score

KEY STAT: Everton have scored two goals or more in five of their last six away games

EXPERT VERDICT: Barnsley have shown signs of improvement following a shaky start to the season, but they have too many defensive vulnerabilities to keep the Toffees at bay. Everton have shown some brutal attacking force but aren’t without problems at the back, so this League Cup tie may be lively.

RECOMMENDATION: Both teams to score

KEY STAT: Midtjylland have lost four of their last five Europa League matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Last week’s 1-1 draw leaves Southampton with work to do in Denmark, but Midtjylland were beaten at home by Panathinaikos at this stage last season. Saints have already beaten Vitesse in Holland and have conceded only once in three Europa League outings.

RECOMMENDATION: Southampton

KEY STAT: Blackburn have lost one of their last six home games

EXPERT VERDICT: Neither of these north-west outfits has enjoyed the start to their Championship season, so both will be hoping to ease their fears with victory. Hosts Blackburn have been creating plenty of chances but have been slightly unfortunate, so should exacerbate their rivals’ relegation worries.

RECOMMENDATION: Blackburn

Jim Feist's Bonus Play for Tuesday, August 25

(973) BOSTON RED SOX VS (974) CHICAGO WHITE SOX

Take: UNDER THE TOTAL.

Reason: Your Bonus Play Tuesday, August 25th 2015 is in the MLB contest between the Red Sox and the White Sox from Chicago. Boston heads out on the road and starter Wade Miley has been throwing well, allowing 1, 2 and 2 runs in three of his last four. Miley was on his game Thursday against the Royals, striking out six while allowing just a single run on six hits over 7.1 innings. He faces a bad Chicago offense the Under is 11-1 when the White Sox face a left-handed starter at home. Jose Quintana (3.60 ERA0 has good stuff and little offensive support. Quintana held the Angels to two runs on eight hits in six innings Thursday to earn his seventh win of the season. Quintana has five quality starts in seven second-half outings, but he has generally lacked the run support to leave those outings with the victory. The Under is 25-10-1 in Quintana's last 36 home starts and the under is 3-1-1 in the last 5 meetings in Chicago between these teams. Play the Red Sox/White Sox under the total.

WNBA Betting Recap - 8/17-8/23
By Joe Williams

League Betting Notes (from Monday, Aug. 17 through Sunday, Aug. 23)

-- Favorites went 9-6 straight up
-- Underdogs went 8-7 against the spread (ATS)
-- Road teams posted a 8-7 SU record
-- Road teams posted a 10-5 ATS record
-- The 'under' went 9-6

Team Betting Notes

-- Tulsa (13-14) is on the comeback trail after some injury issues, capping off a perfect 2-0 week with a win Saturday over Connecticut (12-14), a team on a slide. The Shock have won and covered three straight heading into their game Friday against L.A.

-- Speaking of the Sun, Connecticut dropped their fourth straight, and they're now 5-13 in their past 18 games after starting out 7-1. One thing that is a sure thing with the Sun - the over. The total has gone over in six in a row for the Sun.

-- Atlanta (10-16) has alternated wins and losses in each of their past six games. More importantly, they're 4-1 ATS over their past five games, and the 'over' has hit in nine of their past 11 outings. They have a rematch with Connecticut Tuesday at home after winning 102-92 on the road Sunday in the first end of the home-and-home.

-- Chicago (17-11) completed a home-and-home sweep of Washington (15-11), and it is their first back-to-back victories since Aug. 2-4 against Washington and Indiana.

-- Indiana (17-9) inched by New York (18-8) by an 80-79 count, as the Fever has now won six in a row and 14 of the past 17. The Fever also have covered five of their past six while the 'under' is 4-1 in the past five.

-- Los Angeles (10-17) had a winning week, going 2-1 SU/ATS, with both victories and covers coming on the road. Next up is a trip to red-hot Indiana Wednesday. The two sides just met Aug. 18 with the Fever blasting the Sparks 79-68 in L.A.

-- Phoenix (17-10) restored order Sunday against Minnesota (19-9), snapping an uncharacteristic three-game slide for the Mercury. The Merc also snapped an 0-3 ATS skid. Despite the cover they are still just 4-11 ATS over the past 15 games.

# 3 LOUNGE ACT 9/5

# 4 NAUGHTY MARIETTA 5/2

# 8 EVERYMILEAMEMORY 3/1

LOUNGE ACT looks our best wagering option in this race. Not many knocks against this race horse, let's give her a shot. Her 85 average has this mare among the best TrackMaster SRs in here. This nice horse looks tough considering the high class ratings. Don't throw out of any exotics. NAUGHTY MARIETTA - A formidable win pct has been achieved by entrants beginning from the 4 post. If performance in the most recent race is any indication, this race horse will have a very really strong shot in here. High last race speed figure. EVERYMILEAMEMORY - This mare getting the victory wouldn't be impossible, a chance.

# 7 CENTURION HANOVER 4/1

# 1 SIMPLYAMONSTER AS 5/2

# 6 FIJI 3/1

CENTURION HANOVER looks nice to best this pack. Look for Schnittker and this standardbred to dominate here. Excellent in the money percentage for the trainer/horse duo. Schnittker fits this fine animal's style perfectly. They've enjoyed some super results when working together. SIMPLYAMONSTER AS - This standardbred and Lorentzon have some sort of connection going. In the money stat for this combination is high. Is a formidable win contender given the 72 speed rating from his most recent contest. FIJI - This standardbred looks tough considering the high class ratings. Not a good idea to throw out of any exotics. If effort in the most recent race is any indication, this entrant will have a very good shot for this race. High last race TrackMaster Speed Rating.

RECOMMENDED CHOICES

The Walker Group Picks

# 3 HINT OF SARCASM 1/1

# 8 BACK TO TOGA 4/1

# 9 JOMARY'S THE GREAT 8/1

I lean toward HINT OF SARCASM here. Look for a very good pace improvement from this animal who enters with second time Lasix today. Recent figures for the jockey - 24 win percent - make this filly stand out in this group. Has been running admirably lately and will almost certainly be on the lead early on. BACK TO TOGA - This filly with Perez in the irons makes her a solid contender. This group is much easier than the last one she ran against. JOMARY'S THE GREAT - Have to look at solely on class, with some of the strongest class figures of this field. Players get an edge when playing this handler in a dirt sprint race.

RECOMMENDED CHOICES

The Walker Group Picks

# 5 HEY PRETTY BOY 8/1

# 6 HOPE ON THE ROCKS 9/2

# 1 MAGNUM FORCE 9/2

I think HEY PRETTY BOY is a strong selection particularly if the morning line of 8/1 holds. Has a solid shot in this contest if you like back class. Recent figures for the jock - 17 win percent - make this gelding stand out in this group. Cardenas has one of the best jock ROI's on the grounds, returning to wagerers +243 percent. HOPE ON THE ROCKS - Has ran admirably in dirt route races. MAGNUM FORCE - Has put up reliable Speed Figures in dirt route races in the past. The almost immediate return to the track points to a strong effort today.

#5 SISTER HELEN (ML=4/1)
#2 SWEET TANGENA (ML=3/1)

SISTER HELEN - This filly usually does her best running late. Look for her far back early in the race and finishing well on the tiring speed horses. This rider and trainer's equines have been generating a positive ROI. SWEET TANGENA - Good win pct this jockey and handler tandem have been putting together.

Vulnerable Contenders: #3 MISTRESS MASTER (ML=2/1), #1 REALESTATE PARTNER (ML=5/2), #4 FAIRLY LOVELY (ML=5/1),

MISTRESS MASTER - Would have to get better off that sixth place finish last time to make an impact here. Finished sixth in her most recent race with a disappointing rating. When I look at today's Equibase class figure, it would take an improved performance to score after that in this field. REALESTATE PARTNER - When looking at today's Equibase class figure, she will have to notch a better speed figure than in the last race to be competitive in this dirt sprint. Hard to bet this one from the one slot. Her history is telling you not to. FAIRLY LOVELY - This animal doesn't have a conquering mental state. Quite often finishes near the winner.

Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: Hal - SISTER HELEN - This mount should be your gambling choice today. This filly has posted improving speed figures in her last two contests.

Presque Isle Downs - Race #2 - Post: 5:50pm - Claiming - 5.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $17,000 Class Rating: 92

Rating: Golden DollarGolden DollarGolden DollarGolden Dollar

#3 EXLEY (ML=8/1)
#5 ZAMBITO (ML=4/1)
#4 TOO WILD FOR WORDS (ML=3/1)

EXLEY - I just may give this one a good shot. Should improve off last race where he did run off the board, but was within 5 lengths at the end. This rider and trainer's animals have been generating a beneficial ROI. Here is a true horse for the course. Loves the track here at Presque Isle Downs. ZAMBITO - Allen is back for another event today after sitting atop this horse for the 1st ride on August 12th and ought to know the ropes to this one a little better. This gelding is in good condition. Ran third on Aug 12th. TOO WILD FOR WORDS - A little change in scenery has got to do this one well. Reading the PPs, it seems like he likes to visit the winner's circle at different tracks. A thoroughbred coming back this promptly after a nice race is a good sign. Just check out his most recent figure, 87. That one fits in this bunch. He has the uppermost EPS (earnings per start). Give the once over to this thoroughbred.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 SAMURAI ZIP (ML=5/2), #8 ALLS IM SAYING (ML=5/1), #7 RADICCHIO (ML=6/1),

SAMURAI ZIP - You should normally wager against low-odds horses that haven't raced or show no activity in the morning over the last few weeks. Finished second in his most recent race with a quite unimpressive speed figure. When I look at today's class rating, it would take an improved performance to win after that in this bunch. ALLS IM SAYING - This gelding earned a speed figure in his last contest which likely isn't good enough in today's event. Have to be particularly concerned about the recent trend and awesome speed figure in the August 12th race. It was this gelding's greatest at that distance and this one should bounce today. RADICCHIO - This gelding is always hitting the board, but just doesn't finish first. Tough to wager on him on the front end. Could be tough for this entrant to beat this field off of that last rating. Not likely to improve enough to run a figure anywhere near today's class rating, so put him on the likely underlays list.

STRAIGHT WAGERS:
Putting our cash on #3 EXLEY to win. Have to have odds of at least 4/1 or better though

Mohawk: Tuesday 8/25 Analysis

DRF HARNESS

Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

EARLY PICK 4:

1,6,10/7,8/1,7,8/1,8 = $36

LATE PICK 4: 7/1,6,7,8/2,7,8/2,6,9 = $36

MEET STATS: 246 - 813 / $1407.60 BEST BETS: 33 - 73 / $110.60

SPOT PLAYS: 9 - 70 / $73.10

Best Bet: MEADOW SEELSTER (2nd)

Spot Play: GALAGHER SEELSTER (11th)

Race 1

(1) ASTERIX has delivered sub-29 second speed in his final quarters the last two times he's raced at Mohawk. He's worth a try here at a price because although (9) MARION MARAUDER raced great in the New Jersey Sires Stakes in his past two starts, he's now missed more than a month's racing yet still will be heavily-bet. (2) CLASSICAL SON looked beat last time until the last couple of strides but managed to chase down a loose leader. That effort was a big improvement but it did come via a perfect trip.

Race 2

(2) MEADOW SEELSTER chased a sharp older mare around the track last time and wasn't beaten far in a good effort. She's proven in Grassroots company and will take some beating here. (8) MASS RAIL was too far back and started up too late last week but was still only beaten by less than two lengths. She is the main danger to the choice. (4) ILL STAY HERE was third in the Dream of Glory final and looks best of the rest but likely won't threaten the top two if they stay flat.

Race 3

(3) ROSES IN THE RAIN tried the inside lane on the stretch last week but lacked room. Back facing exclusively her own sex here she should be tough. (1) RAILEE PRITTI surged in the final strides to nail a tired leader on a night where the off track was killing speed. She may be overbet off that perfect-trip win. (4) GIONA beat a decent field at Georgian after starting from the worst post and shouldn't be overlooked here.

Race 4

(6) COLLECTIVE WISDOM is a half-sister to several good ones including Luck Of Michelle, who won her first 7 starts and $907K lifetime. The late speed that this filly has displayed in her qualifiers indicates readiness; top call. (1) HEAVENLY BET has faced only stakes company so far and picked up a check each time. She should be competitive here. (10) SINGIT LIKE ARETHA may not have liked the off track last week. Don't dismiss too lightly.

Race 5

(8) ALLERAGE STAR was a decent third in open stakes company down south last time, faces easier, bit will also take the bulk of the wagering support. She looks best, but, what price would you take? (7) COLORATURA hasn't been able to fish out cover the past two starts and tired after first-over treks. Starting farther out she figures to latch onto cover and Zeron will be winding her up turning home; beware. (1) DESIS DREAM was a powerful winner two back then broke early at Georgian. A repeat of the August 1 mile puts her right there with these.

Race 6

(8) NATES BUCKY closed a big gap late in his debut and can build on that here in his second lifetime start. Henry will likely float out and try to get a better spot early here. (7) PICK SIX chased a very fast pace for this class and didn't tire horribly. He figures here. (1) CAJON LIGHTNING has a good late kick and should grab a share starting from the inside.

Race 7

(1) HURRICANE HAZEL, like most of the field, had trouble keeping up to very swift splits last time but was kicking in with her late charge when the wire hit. She should be able to lay closer here and mow these down late. (8) GS GRASSHOPPER uncorked a lifetime-best mile last time and that turnaround should be respected. (7) WORLD CLASS IZZY was heavily-bet last time and managed only a third-place finish. She can share here but is doubtful for the win end.

Race 8

(7) DERBY DYLAN was an easy winner in a new life's best mark off the claim last week and stands a good chance of doubling up here. (1) DADDY WARBUCKS was hung the mile at Clinton and still only beaten 2 1/2 lengths. His race two back here at Mohawk puts him right there vs. these. (4) POKER HAT showed nothing from an outer post last time now drops and moves inside five slots; improvement expected.

Race 9

(1) VAL AMERICA was on too much cover that wasn't advancing last week yet still finished a good third. He picks up Filion here which has been a high % angle this entire meet; top call. (6) IDOLE DUHARAS escapes the hot Genesee and should threaten here after finishing 2nd to him in the past two starts. (7) CRUZIN K C drops into claimers for the first time and will be passing horses late.

Race 10

(8) HAPE closed a huge gap late last week and should have a better shot here if Jackie Mo can float her out and beat a couple of horses to the first 1/4. She is one of several until that can win this. (2) RENEGADE MAGIC fell one step short last time as a big chalk and can make amends here. (7) POINTE OF INQUIRY made a big third 1/4 brush, opened up a gap on the field and just held on. Don't underestimate this owner/trainer/driver who does very well with his own stock.

Race 11

(6) GALLAGHER SEELSTER has shown rapid improvement in late speed in his past two starts and will likely be a square price here; call to upset. (2) ABSOLUTLY OFFICIAL looked like a winner last week but had no answer for the winner that slipped off the rail mid-stretch and exploded down the lane. He is the one to beat here. (9) NEW MIRACLE has a serious late kick and need only be within 5 or 6 lengths of the lead at the 3/4 pole to have a shot here. (3) DERBY DALE raced well to nab a check and could do the same here starting from the inside. (5) ALONEINSPADES raced okay at Sarnia last time and could fill one of the lower rungs of the exotic wagers here.

Yonkers: Tuesday 8/25 Analysis
By Matt Rose

DRF HARNESS

MEET STATS: 242 - 757 / $1390.60 BEST BETS: 33 - 60 / $113.10

Best Bet: OHO DIAMOND (8th)

Spot Play: ITSONLYROCKNROLL A (12th)

Race 1

(4) TREND SPOTTER was aggressively handled from the eight hole last out and tired badly, but I liked the effort and it may have tightened him up. (7) TIDEWATER TOMAHAWK may be done in by this poor post; needs to generate early speed. (5) ROCK FAME ships from Jersey and may take some curiosity money.

Race 2

(3) CELEBRITY LAMBO ships from Pocono where the colt recently took two straight on the front end; he has a post edge on likely favorite (5) CRAZY BEAUTIFUL and will certainly be better value. The latter has looked very sharp recently for the sharp Alagna/Zeron tandem. (2) MOUNTAIN TOP debuts for a new barn today and should fit well here.

Race 3

(3) SILVER FOX J was a good second last out and the Toscano trainee can build off that effort. (1) MAURICE looked to be rallying a bit in last when he broke. Lachance trainee raced well in prior efforts and draws best. (6) TWIN B STINGRAY has bounced around a bit looking for the right spot; he may factor for a small share at a price.

Race 4

(6) SMART AS A WHIP had some gait issues when last seen locally but it looks like the Svanstedt trainee has gotten things figured out and I like the angle of Dan Dube driving these youngsters. (4) MUSCLES AND SPICE has been racing well recently and is the lone 4YO in here. (1) KIRSI HANOVER ships in making her second start since moving to the Julie Miller barn and she can have more to offer.

Race 5

(3) THE SPY has missed some time but he returns now in the Mark Ford barn and he appears fast enough to go with these; worth a look. (4) MCCITO makes his third local start and he raced well last out. (5) ULTIMATE G returns from Philly, where he shared in minor awards, and his start here last month he was third best in a fast mile.

Race 6

(5) UVA HANOVER hasn't really put in a bad effort since arriving at Yonkers and he's just a clean trip away from a nice payday. This is a good post with tactical options in this added-distance event. (3) JESSE'S STORY has hit the ticket in every start since shipping into the surprisingly live Forte barn. (1) LORENZO DREAM has plenty of speed and class but he did give way badly on the front end last out.

Race 7

(12) ALEXANDER LUKAS broke as the favorite two back upon arrival, then closed in very willingly from too far back last out. Gelding can provide value here from this spot and can do damage with a clean trip. (3) BRANDOS MUSCLE MAN has the class and is steadily rounding into form for Garcia-Herrera. (2) BLACKWOLF RUN raced well upon shipping from Ohio and Brennan drives today.

Race 8

(5) OHO DIAMOND finished with plenty of trot upon arrival and now gets that all-important catch driver in the sulky today; to the windows! (2) I'LLSEEUINCOURT ships from The Meadows, joins the DiDomenico barn, gets Sears in the bike and looks like a good fit. (10) OVER AND OUT is also a new arrival from Pennsylvania and he showed some recent wins versus cheaper.

Race 9

(5) WILD SMILE changes to the John McDermott barn and gets the aggressive Brennan in the bike; gelding seems capable of turning things around. (3) ELIAS JOY tries leading driver Bartlett and the veteran should be able to hang with these. (2) TRADING PLACES is likely the one to beat but she won't offer any value.

Race 10

(8) GLOIRE DREAM arrives locally now in the Julie Miller barn and he looks like the type that can take air and grind a while; gets a very weak call in a tough-to-figure event. (10) THE BIG THEA THEA is another Meadows shipper and they've done well here; definitely useable. (1) PRINCE LAUXMONT has been better recently and is a speed threat.

Race 11

(1) DONNIE DARKO was a well-handled winner last out and from this rail spot he can certainly repeat. (5) STEALTH JETTA is reunited with Dube, and they teamed up for a front-end score two back. (4) MESMERIZED broke at odds-on her in latest effort; Sears drives today and the price should be better.

Race 12

(8) ITSONLYROCKNROLL A looked super in two qualifiers upon arriving from Austrailia for Team Stalbaum and he may be capable of blowing these away at first asking. I don't quite know what to make of his 20/1 morning line, however... (1) CUNDALINI was very game in defeat last out and now goes for new connections. (2) ABERDEEN HANOVER ships in from Philly, gets a good post to work with and seems fast enough to compete.
