On paper it looks like a no brainer. Be careful though. The gators (i believe) are missing their big man. This game (i believe) will be played in Jax & not Gainesville in a small gym. The gators may have little to no motivation while UNF could be fired up to play a "big time" school in their gym.

Good luck, just giving food for thought

Egbunu played and played well against A&M despite the injury. Florida plays in that gym every year and JAX is like a second Gainesvillle. Coach White needs to end this season on a positive note. I think the gators come out with some fire in this game.

The Gators play at UNF Arena every year? :think2: For what, practice? Serious question.

I've scoured the Net for head to head meetings between these 2 schools, and I think this is the first time they've played each other
in the UNF Arena or anywhere for that matter.

Capacity for the UNF Arena is about 5800, and I'm pretty sure the majority in attendance will be Osprey supporters.

This is by far the biggest game in the history of the UNF basketball program. UNF will be psyched to play at home in the NIT against one of their in-state
"big brothers." We'll see how motivated the Gators are to be on the road in the NIT. Should be an excellent entertaining game, but
getting +8.5 to +9 points with the Ospreys under these circumstances is VERY tempting IMO.

Thanks! They indeed played on Friday, 8 November 2013 at Gainesville (Stephen O'Connell Center) in the Global Sports Challenge.

Florida was a -23.5 point favorite over North Florida for that game.

The Ospreys battled the Gators hard to the bitter end and only lost by 8 at the Gators house!

In 2013, the Ospreys sucked badly (probably in the mid 200s in equivalent KENPOM).

The Gators were in the number 8 in the 2013 preseason polls.

I'm starting to like North Florida +8.5 to +9 even better now. @)

They also played in '11, '07 and '06, Florida murdered them each of those years. I don't normally play "Not Invited Tourney" games because of the motivation, or lack of, factor. But this is Mike White's first year, no way in hell he doesn't horse whip the Gators tonight if needed. Egbunu playing or not could be key though. GL Fade and all here.

sorry about that you are right about the gym. thought they were going to play it at the neutral arena in jax that florida plays at every year and not UNFs home court. that definitely has factor in the game. Itll be close at half. I still think florida covers
