You are correct Husker

I have been playing their totals for about a week now and have been happy. Historically, it appears his sides are not as good as his totals from my research. I also am an avid follower of Akmens though he has been in a rut of .500 for about 2 months now.

All I am saying, is post whether it wins or loses. I do like the fact that on RAS they show what the open and closed line is..Where do you also post records as I would be most interested.

[...quote=husker;6478165]you didn't post ras's side plays for 2/25/09 that he was 1-3 with. :think2:[/quote]

LOL Husker, why do you hate on RAS so much?

+38.15 units for the season, #1 at trackpicks, full transparency of all plays/records, doesn't inflate units, etc.... What gives?

Just looking at the line moves really tells the story on RAS totals. If one doesn't like his sides, then don't play them. He has found soft lines on totals, just be prepared to play them fast because they will move.

RA is one of the good guys.

those plays were not posted at any forum, you know that you monitor them all. i am only tracking plays that ere posted. all i am doing is tracking POSTED plays at lines people can get. if that bothers you (like every service), too bad.

You should know as well as anyone that every play released by RAS is posted on our website no later than 10 minutes after the start of each game.

Obviously, grading any handicapper/service/bettor on lines that are different than when play was released/posted/bet is unfair. Particularly when it involves a someone that has a significant influence on the market. Could you imagine making a bet in the morning at +7 and then later when the game starts the sportsbook says you have +5.5? It just doesn't make sense. If you want to educate people on the difficulty of following an influential service due to lines moving quickly right after release, I am all for it, and I will support you in that regard, but to make up some arbitrary line that you think "people can get" and grade records with it is unjust win or lose. The same goes for using only a select subset (posted, non posted) of plays.

It is very rare that a true long term (2-3 year minimum) winner will fly under the radar enough to not move lines. This would be the only type of handicapper/service that would be worth following on a forum or other third party source. Otherwise by the time you get the information it will have lost considerable value.

Whether it is Dr Bob, RAS, or Helmut, anyone who wins consistently at a high rate over a long period of time is going to attract a sharp following that will influence the market by moving lines with their releases. There is no better evidence of a handicapper's ability than closing line value. In nearly all cases these are the services/handicappers you want to be with.
