Regulation you say today. Ok. The only way that happens is if the US government gets behind that idea. Odds of that happening? I don't have a calculator that will figure it out.

Jay C.: Is this poster actually Jay Cohen formerly of the WSEX?

Idea: List any book that fails to pay the player after a given time period and UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANSES, allow that book to EVER become a paying advertizer at the RX. This would be a good start.

Dante,

Let's first SEE how many people will volunteer their time to help make this happen and yes, Whoson1st, we are talking about the Founder of WSEX...

Shrink,

I find it hard to believe you had a civil conversation with anyone of authority at ESB in the present or past. And if it was them, talk about throwing the baby out with the bath water. Any real books you know of using this tactic?

Jay,

Who said it was a civil conversation, lol? I know it sounds crazy, but one of ESB'S main guys these days told me of their demonic ways..

And didn't I preface this by saying it was an unscrupulous operator?

Furthermore, I believe a gambler recently posted something similar when he asked for a payout but I cannot remember which book or poster at the moment...

Judge,

I find it sad that so many posters WANT US to be MORE INVOLVED but when I ask for volunteers to help out, look at the lack of volunteers...

If you want something done guys, then get off your asses and assist. I'd be very willing to help orchestrate a group of people who would act as PLAYER ADVOCATES, but I need YOUR HELP....

Thanks,
Ken

Shrink, apathy runs deep. But don't be dissuaded. There has to be some people out there comitted enough to get involved.

Ken, love the idea and would be glad to take a major role, but I am far too realistic. Just read what I have said before warning about embracing regulation. The current situation isn't perfect, but my guess is once you mess with it and bring the government around it can only get worse. If you found a workable plan I would be glad to help.

Only regulation is in Vegas period

Anything else is just a feel good story

Play at good books and ZERO need for regulation

You cannot regulate a business (offshore betting) when it is highly illegal in America.

WildBill and Judge,

Thanks for the support...

But for now, ALL that I propose is a MEETING for anyone to attend who is interested in helping to get MORE PROTECTION for the PLAYER...

It's not about any State or Federal regulation, but rather, a way where we could do a better job of regulating the offshore sports book industry ourselves...

Kenny we need no regulation with you at the helm, I am not joking around either.

You are the regulation here as the busiest gambling portal in the world

Who has influence more than you?? Answer=Nobody
What more do we need??

Then we got Rusty at MW as number two.

If there is a problem you pick up the phone and it is solved.

Anytime you put a group together (volunteer) what will happen is payoffs and bribes and it will be a pure waste.

Your the regulation period.

Regulation a la UK

Any governmental regulation is obviously out of question. Sportsbook are spread over many countries and accept bet from a lot more.

Ideally, I would like to see the books form a self-regulatory body with each member contributing to a escrow account. Members of the body can use the account to transfer money to each other and can act to resolve dispute, award damages etc.

So if Bad Book refuses to pay money to a customer, the customer can complain to the board and if they find the issue valid, they can award the money out of the escrow account.

It does mean that the books should be willing to pay a small amount for the day-to-day running of the board, but it is feasible and should not be too difficult.

For a book that is mostly up and up, this should not be a problem.

The more important question is Who will take the lead?
