Trump deploys secret weapon – Ivanka! – as she cuts radio ad about her 'incredible father' that will run in Iowa and New Hampshire

  • Ivanka Trump is featured in minute-long radio spot gushing about her father being a great businessman and a great dad
  • 'I've watched my dad make deals that seemed impossible to get done,' she says
  • Donald Trump gloated about his daughter calling her an 'exceptional entrepreneur' and a 'terrific person'

Daughter Ivanka Trump loaned her voice to her 'incredible father's' campaign, recording a new radio ad that will be played on the airwaves in Iowa and New Hampshire.
'Hello, I'm Ivanka Trump, when I was a young girl my father, Donald Trump, always told me that I could do anything that I set my mind to if I coupled vision with determination and hard work – he meant it,' the eldest Trump daughter said in the ad's opening lines.
In the spot, she portrays her father as a traditionalist, a job creator, a savvy businessman and a good parent. In the press release for the ad, she touts his vision, strength and competence.

Ivanka Trump 'talk[ed] about her father as only a daughter can,' the campaign noted in the spot's release.
'I consider myself fortunate to have learned from the best, both as an entrepreneur and, most importantly, a parent,' the pregnant Ivanka Trump said in the minute-long spot.
Ivanka Trump reminds listeners that her father had the kids learn the business from a young age and work hard for it.
She notes that he's created 'tens of thousands' of jobs and inspired those that work for him 'to achieve great things.'

'I've watched my dad make deals that seemed impossible to get done,' she said.
'As president my father will keep his word,' she continued. 'He'll never quit fighting for this country and its future and he will make America great again,' the potential future first daughter said, sharing The Donald's well-known slogan.
The advertisement is targeting voters from the first two states holding contests.
The Iowa caucuses will take place Feb. 1. Trump is now in a highly competitive race in the Hawkeye state, with Texas Sen. Ted Cruz biting at his heels.
In New Hampshire, Trump as more breathing room, with an average lead of 17.6 percent over the rest of the crowded GOP primary pack, according to Real Clear Politics.

In announcing the Ivanka Trump spot, Donald Trump endorsed his daughter right back.
'My family has been so supportive of me and my candidacy and I am so proud of Ivanka,' the candidate said. 'She is a terrific person, a devoted mother and an exceptional entrepreneur.'
'Ivanka is doing a fantastic job running my company, alongside her brothers, and is building many of biggest jobs,' Trump continued.
'It is so important to have the support of all my children and I'm really proud of this ad,' the billionaire added.
Ivanka, along with Trump's sons Donald Jr. and Eric, joined their dad last week in North Charleston, South Carolina, as he participated in yet another Republican debate, the sixth.
The businessman said he'd totally give over the company to his kids if he wins the White House.
'If I become president, I couldn't care less about my company,' Trump said. 'It's peanuts.'
'I have Ivanka, and Eric and Don sitting here,' he continued. 'Run the company kids! Have a good time. I'm going to do it for America.'
The press release brings up last week's debate too, bragging that Trump was 'unanimously declared the winner.'

[h=6]- JANUARY 18, 2016 -[/h][h=1]MANY ‘LOST’ VOTERS SAY THEY HAVE FOUND THEIR CANDIDATE IN TRUMP[/h]Reuters
Ted Wade hasn’t cared about politics enough to cast a vote in a U.S. presidential election for almost a quarter of a century, back when he supported Ross Perot’s independent candidacy in 1992.
But Republican Donald Trump's 2016 White House bid has motivated Wade to get involved and he plans to support the real estate mogul in Nevada’s nominating caucus next month. Trump is a "non-politician" who can fix the "chaos" in Washington, he says.
About one in 10 Americans who plan to cast a vote this election will do so for the first time in years, if ever, and Trump holds a decided edge with them, according to polling by Reuters/Ipsos. (tmsnrt.rs/1SgeLvi)
These voters offer Trump a pool of voters who could be decisive either in the Republican primaries or a general election. They could be crucial for Trump in early-voting states such as Iowa and South Carolina, where his nearest rival, Senator Ted Cruz, is putting pressure on Trump and enjoys a strong base of support with more traditionally conservative voters.
In Reuters/Ipsos polling from June to December 2015, 27.3 percent of these “new” voters said they would vote for Trump, higher than his poll numbers among independents and Republicans who regularly vote.
By way of comparison, Cruz captures just 3.4 percent of these voters. And Senator Marco Rubio of Florida snags only 4 percent.
“I’m tired of the chaos between Democrats and Republicans and want to give somebody a try who I think can make a difference,” said Wade of Trump.
The 51-year-old has already switched his affiliation from Democrat to Republican and even attended a Trump campaign event in Las Vegas. He has told his three older children to get involved in the elections, although he did not say whether he wanted them to vote for Trump.
Trump, the Republican front-runner, has made targeting “lost” voters such as Wade a focus of his campaign. His anti-immigrant rhetoric and protectionist trade proposals have helped him to fashion a message tailored to reach Americans alienated by the endless enmity between the political parties and who, because of declining economic prospects, may feel like neither party has done much for them.
Trump’s strategy is a gamble, given the lack of reliability of many of the voters with whom he is most popular.
In interviews, some of those lost voters insist they will show up, saying they are drawn to Trump’s outsider status and his willingness to upend the political system.
PAGING A PIRANHA
Tucson, Arizona, resident Renay Cunningham, 56, said she had never paid much attention to politics in the past. She plans to cast her first ever vote for Trump after hearing his proposed policies to curb illegal immigration, which include building a giant wall on the southern border and making Mexico pay for it.
“We need a piranha in there, and he’s definitely a piranha,” she said.
Trump and his operatives are confident they can do what few of his rivals for the Republican nomination have shown they can do — expand the party’s potential voter pool.
But while Democrat Barack Obama did that eight years ago by largely registering new voters, including record levels of minorities, both male and female, in urban centers, Trump’s campaign has instead largely sought out the disaffected, who tend to be overwhelmingly older, white, and less educated than the broader electorate.
“My whole campaign has been focused on expanding the number of people who want to, and will, participate in this election cycle,” Trump wrote in a recent op-ed in USA Today.
When analyzing “lost” or “new” voters, Reuters compiled poll results from people who haven’t voted in the previous two presidential campaigns and midterm congressional elections.
The results focused only on those who said they were nearly certain to vote in the November election. It included responses from 3,440 “new” Republican and independent voters – a sample that has a credibility interval of 2 percentage points.
Jan Leighley, an expert on turnout at American University, said it’s too soon to compare Trump’s “new” voters with the disenfranchised voters, especially minorities, who in 2008 turned out in record numbers to elect the first black president.
Those voters didn’t find their way to the polls simply because they were inspired to make history, Leighley said. “He also had a kick-ass mobilization structure."
“Obama’s campaign went door-to-door. They canvassed whole neighborhoods. “I don’t know if he (Trump) has the campaign infrastructure to make sure that the folks who are riled up are walked to the polls on Election Day,” she said.
CHANGING THE RULES
Trump’s campaign insists he does have the infrastructure, but won’t provide specifics on how it intends to turn casual supporters into engaged voters. The campaign says it does follow up with the thousands of attendees who jam arenas for Trump’s rallies.
That’s one significant advantage the reality star has over the other candidates in the Republican field, as the challenge in reaching voters who have fallen out of the political process often lies in simply locating them.
“We’ve identified a lot of people in early primary states who have not participated in the process before,” campaign manager Corey Lewandowski told Reuters.
Lewandowski resists the notion that Trump needs to turn out “new” or reluctant voters to win states such as Iowa.
Even if the Trump campaign isn’t necessarily counting on them, it may be reassuring that his supporters among “new” voters who responded to the Reuters/Ipsos survey appear motivated to cast a vote for him. At least for the time being.
Ronald Thomas, a 49-year-old truck driver and Navy veteran in North Carolina, said he, too, has never voted in a presidential contest. His girlfriend would push him to vote but he would always say "Yeah, but the right one ain’t come along yet,’” Thomas said.
Trump is that man. His willingness to take on the government has set him apart as someone who would "actually look out for the people," said Thomas. Now he wants to know how to register so that he can vote for the billionaire.
And there’s Vince DiSylvester, a retired maintenance worker in Missouri, who, at 73, said has never cast a ballot for president. But Trump has inspired him to rethink that.
"He's a businessman, he knows business, he knows how to get things done," he said. "And he tells it like it is. If you don't like it - well, too bad."

[h=6]- JANUARY 18, 2016 -[/h][h=1]DONALD TRUMP TAKES LIBERTY, COURTS CHRISTIAN CROWD[/h]CNN
Lynchburg, Virginia (CNN) - Donald Trump pitched himself Monday to Christian students at Liberty University as a politically incorrect protector of Christianity, tailoring his classic stump speech to the evangelical audience with mixed success.
"Christianity, it's under siege," Trump proclaimed early in his speech to the crowd of about 10,000 -- overwhelmingly Liberty University students who are required to attend the university's tri-weekly convocations.
But Trump, who has eagerly targeted evangelicals -- a key voting bloc in the first caucus state of Iowa -- in his quest for the presidency, tripped over himself Monday as he attempted to quote from the Bible to connect with the crowd of students at one of the most prominent Christian universities in the country, and the largest in the world.
"Two Corinthians, 3:17, that's the whole ballgame," Trump said, drawing laughter from the crowd of students at Liberty University who knew Trump was attempting to refer to "Second Corinthians."
Trump was still able to draw applause from the crowd by reading the Bible verse, however: "Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty," the university's "School Verse" which is prominently displayed on campus.
And several students who attended the rally didn't fault Trump for the scriptural slip, instead giving him kudos for attempting to connect with his religious audience.
"I think the fact that he's putting forth an effort to relate to us is something decent," said Nacci Palloto, a sophomore at the university.
Taking pains to avoid judging the Republican presidential front-runner, Palloto said Trump seemed "on the lower side" of being authentic as he talked about his Christianity and said it seemed like Trump was "like 'I'm just gonna say this to appeal to you' type of thing."
Taylor Timmerman and Victoria Clay, both seniors, said they thought Trump's focus on Christianity during his speech did seem authentic, with Clay pointing Trump's friendship with Jerry Falwell, Jr, the university's president who spoke glowingly about Trump in introducing the Republican candidate.
Falwell, the son of controversial Christian evangelist and Liberty University founder Jerry Falwell Sr., noted that the university does not endorse candidates for office and has invited both Democratic and Republican presidential candidates to speak at the university.
But Falwell lauded Trump in a lengthy introduction that he offered to neither Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, a Democratic presidential contender who recently spoke at the university, nor Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who announced his presidential bid here last spring.
Falwell glowingly compared Trump to his father due to their shared propensity for eschewing political correctness.
"Donald Trump is a breath of fresh air," Falwell said, before saying he believed "the American public is finally ready to elect a candidate who is not a career politician but rather who has succeeded in real life."
Trump, in a departure from recent days, didn't take any direct jabs at Cruz, the GOP presidential contender who enjoys the backing of some of the evangelical movement's most prominent leaders.
With the Falwell bump, Trump still managed to win over much of his audience with pledges to "protect Christianity," lines that earned him some of his strongest applause of his 50-minute speech.
"We're going to protect Christianity. I don't have to be politically correct," Trump said.
The Corinthians flub wasn't Trump's only hiccup.
Trump's use of the word "hell" prompted some students to point to the university's student code of conduct, "The Liberty Way," which notes that any "obscene, profane or abusive language is punished with Reprimands and fines."
Trump used the word in reference to the U.S. conflicts in the Middle East (wanting to "knock the hell out of" ISIS, or "we don't know what the hell we're doing"), sparking local reactions on Yik Yak, the anonymous commenting website.
"Mr. Trump, I'm afraid you need to put a quarter in the swear jar," one commenter in the region posted.
Trump's invitation to speak on campus on Martin Luther King Jr. Day prompted backlash from some corners of the largely conservative student body.
But while Falwell said Trump's speech would be an opportunity for the bombastic front-runner "to recognize and honor Dr. King," Trump made only sparing reference to the civil rights icon.
Touting what he said was a "record" crowd size at Liberty University's central arena -- which is regularly packed for convocations due to the university's mandatory attendance policy -- Trump said in opening his remarks he would like to "dedicate that to Martin Luther King, a great man."
And again in closing, Trump pointed to King -- and the size of his crowds.
"It's an honor in terms of Martin Luther King," Trump said. "We're dedicating the record to the late, great Martin Luther King."
Trump made no other mention of the civil rights leader.
CNN's Greg Krieg contributed to this report.

Looks like Sarah Palin is jumping unto the Trump bandwagon who has more conservative bonafides
than she. Cruz stated if that's the case he'll be very disappointed. She may be able to influence the
undecideds to bring Trump home in Iowa which will ensure the nomination.

Though Sarah had her commupance

she still is a valuable advocate. Remember Gingrich in 2012 was pleading with Palin to endorse
him after his big win in South Carolina at the highpoint of his candidacy. He didn't get it but
groping for something close he did get the endorsement of her husband Todd. She didn't
endorse anyone. This time if she endorses Trump it will help him with the ultra right & evangelical wings
of the party & that means everything in Iowa.

[h=6]- JANUARY 19, 2016 -[/h][h=1]PHYLLIS SCHLAFLY: TRUMP IS ‘LAST HOPE FOR AMERICA’[/h]WND
Phyllis Schlafly, an icon of the conservative movement who has been active for half a century, is warning the nation: Donald Trump is the last hope for America.
Schlafly unloaded on Republicans in Congress for passing the $1.1 trillion omnibus bill last week, a move she called a “betrayal.”
“This is a betrayal of the grassroots and of the Republican Party,” Schlafly said in an exclusive interview with WND. “We thought we were electing a different crowd to stand up for America, and they didn’t. We’re extremely outraged by what Congress has done. Nancy Pelosi couldn’t have engineered it any better. I think the people are going to react by electing Donald Trump.”
Trump put out a statement Friday to ABC News saying, “If anyone needs more evidence of why the American people are suffering at the hands of their own government, look no further than the budget deal announced by Speaker Ryan. In order to avoid a government shutdown, a cowardly threat from an incompetent president, the elected Republicans in Congress threw in the towel and showed absolutely no budget discipline.”
Trump continued, “Congress cannot seem to help itself in bending to every whim of special interests. How can they face their constituents when they continue to burden our children and grandchildren with debts they will never be able to repay? Our government is failing us, so we must do something about it. Who knows how bad things will be when the next administration comes in and has to pick up the pieces?”
Schlafly applauded the GOP front-runner’s fighting spirit.
“It sounds like Donald Trump is the only one who has any fight in him,” she said. “He will fight for the issues that we really care about and are very hot at the present time, such as the immigration issue. I don’t see anyone else who’s eager to fight.”
The Republican-controlled Congress just sold America down in river in the “worst kind of betrayal,” Schlafly told WND.
“It’s the worst kind of a betrayal because we thought we elected a bunch of good guys who would shape up the party,” she said. “We had a lot of fancy promises that the Republicans were going to shape up and change course. And they disappointed us. Betrayal is an appropriate word to describe it.”
WND asked Schlafly if she believes Donald Trump is the last hope for America.
“He does look like he’s the last hope [for America],” Schlafly said. “We don’t hear anybody saying what he’s saying. In fact, most of the people who ought to be lining up with him are attacking him. They’re probably jealous of the amount of press coverage he gets. But the reason he gets so much press coverage is the grassroots are fed up with people who are running things, and they do want a change. They do want people to stand up for America. It really resonates when he says he wants to ‘Make America Great Again.'”
Schlafly said it’s not only Republicans who feel betrayed, but Democrats, too.
“They are betrayed,” she said. “There’s no doubt about it. The working man and woman have been betrayed by both parties. They’re ready for a change … anything they think would be better.”
The conservative superstar also blasted leaders of both parties who advocate lax immigration policies while American workers continue to struggle in a tepid economy.
“The rich guys are putting the money in. They want to bring in the low-wage people. That’s the way they think they’ll make money,” she said. “But that’s not the way America will prosper. America was built because we had a great growing and prosperous middle class. We need to rebuild that again. I’m willing to give a new try to somebody else.”
