Actually its a good move for Trump. The shutdown he claimed he would be "Proud" to own is over.... now in 3 weeks, if the Democrats wont give him a small amount of money for a wall, then he can say he is negotiating and trying to get things done, and Democrats own the next shutdown

That makes so sense. It's a temporary opening. If the dems dont fund his wall in 3 weeks he'll shut it down again.
It will always be on him. It's a lose /lose situation.

You do know the road is littered with failed politicians who were extremely articulate on this border/illegal immigrant stuff, right? Steve King, Tom Tancredo, Duncan Hunter....I'm sure I'm missing a few more. All of them, at one point or another, were huge targets of the virulent left.

Credit to Trump for using his cult-of-personality celebrity to vault this issue front and center politically where it belongs.

Throughout his campaign, Trump promised both the wall AND MEXICO WOULD PAY FOR IT! Over and over and over. He publicly scoffed at his rivals that said Mexico would never pay for it. Well, if Mexico pays for it, he can have his Wall. But right now, Nancy Pelosi grabbed him by the balls and she ain't going to let go.

I think that's why he ended it. It's only for a few weeks and if he still gets no money for the wall via Congress, we shut right back down and he will hang that shutdown necklace right around Nancy's neck.
