METS PROBABLE STARTER: Benson (8-9, 4.52 ERA). Benson is 7-4 with a 4.41 ERA in 14 career starts against the Cardinals. He is 1-1 with a 6.30 ERA in three starts against St. Louis this year. The Cardinals are hitting .329 against him this season.

CARDINALS PROBABLE STARTER: Williams (8-6, 4.06 ERA). Williams is 4-1 with a 5.37 ERA in nine career starts against the Mets.

Under is 7-1-2 in Benson's last 10 starts.
Over is 7-2-1 in the Mets last 10 overall.
STL is 7-3 in Williams last 10 home starts.

i like the trends of 10-1 last 11 overs, the mets 7-2-1 last 10 over
williams 7-3 last 10 starts @ home.

most of time this info is meaningless unless it deals with the matchup at hand.
with the addition of larry Walker this is the best lineup in the majors. they hit for POWER, they have good speed when needed, pujols is the best hitter at this age then maybe anybody in history. they are loaded at lefty with edmonds and walker now, with renteria and rolen and pujols, wow.

the cards up the middle are as good as it gets defensively.



the over has hit 10 of 11, the cards are hitting .329 off him this year, then add in walker at .410, i see no relief for benson today. hopefully the wind isn't blowing in, that could be the only problem with the over.

woody will give up some runs today, sometimes he can dominate though. and benson has pitched a great game vs the cards so anything is possible.

can I pull the trigger on a monster play for both, ? having a good night last helps, and balls to wall theory from now on doesn't hurt.

Good play on the Cards today, I hope your day was as good as mine, if the dodgers come home it will be a 6 game sweep today and man did I need it. Anyways I was writing you because you seemed like a pretty knowledgable handicapper and I was wondering if you knew any services that have done really well in preseason NFL in the past few years?

i don't believe in services. i haven't in a long time, i do just fine without them. though they are nice to look at, but to believe in is something different.

we our selves can come up with the same info, you just have to know what to look for.


a little preseason action you say,

i never bet preseason, but this year will be different.

i like new coaches coming in and looking at alot of players the first few games and to get some wins under their belt.

giants, redskins, bears, ect.

i also like a thread in the nfl forum here, it talks about good, average, and poor teams on the road, it makes sense and i have noticed that trend for a long time, just never played the preseason.


another good option is a team with a lot of veteran qbs, should score a lot of points vs week defenses aanmd young players.

i also have a book with records of the preseason coach's record, that is key. probably post later this upcoming week.
