I would say true. Or at least especially of lines of less than +5. At +5 the moneyline should be around +180. At +7 you would be looking at around +250.

I would say just to take the underdog on the moneyline, no need for the points! That doesnt mean that I take every dog of less than 7 points, but if I handicap a dog as the winner and they are getting +7 or lower, then I just bet them on the moneyline. Since I have started doing that in the past 3 years, I have seen better results

I didn't expect to see a thread from you about handicapping dogs. I'd figure ya for more of a chalk-eater, abandoning the dogs....:ohno:

Of course I made this thread across the street and got much more educated responses. Whalewager made a good post, but the others just show what this site has started to become.

Did you pay the guy on that NBA opener bet?

Maybe if you weren't involved in half the scams on the forums people would take your gambling posts more seriously....Maybe...:grandmais

first thought: If the favorite is playing back-to-back games or their third game in four days, take the moneyline
If the dog is playing back-to-back or their third game in four days, take the points
no evidence to support this

FINALLY a great response.

Cuspidz, not that it is any of your business, but of course I paid him! I said that I would and I did as soon as Wilheim made the post. I guess that the line went up 1/2 point then back down within a 30 minute period. Me and that guy had traded cash before on about 10 occassions. It wasnt the money that was the issue, but I felt that I had won. I still was able to verify SIA though, but it wasnt wort the $50.

Pedro, I did take a payout, so not much over $1000 now. Thanks for your concern TTP

Do a search on my previous posts where I talk about how much each half point at each number is worth....................this will answer your question.

I have heard this exact same question asked to Fezzik at a football handicapping conference this past fall and he says no because you are playing against a 40 cent juice (20 cents per side) spread.

For example tonights Miami/Milwaukee game was lined at 5.5/6 points and the moneyline there was in the -250/+210 range. He says you have no shot playing into lines like that and I have to agree that makes a ton of sense. Your paying double the juice.

Now it looks like the low spreads like Portland/Philadelphia (1.5/2) have 10 cents on both side of juice, a 20 cent spread and that is what he says with football is okay, very low lined games are fine for a moneyline. Seems to be around 4 and lower are fine.

Why don't you just stay over there where you and all the other stiffs get your due respect.

Stiffs and shot takers just does not fly over here.

Get back
