Any troy fans out there that can tell me about their situation this season.

They are looking pretty good for week one against MTSU

-6.5 seems like a great spot

Lost their O-coord to Auburn I believe? and quite a few starters graduated. Still should be able to take down MTSU by 7. Awful defensive team and kicking game for the Blue Raiders.

Here's my play with analysis if it will help:

Troy -6 fro 2.5 UNITS -- Once again, we have a major mismatch on the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Whenever Troy has the ball, they will be defending their backfield with an offensive line that brings back everybody from last year 2 DEEP! They will be breaking in new starters at QB and RB, but both their starters have experience and are expected to be good. On the defensive side of the ball, Troy brings back 3 of their 4 defensive line starters and plug some holes in LB position and DL with JUCO transfers that carry some experience. They will be going against a depleted Middle Tennessee St offensive line that has lost the starters and second string reserves at both center and right tackle. They were already breaking in a new starter at right guard. MTSU brings back an experienced QB and RB, but behind a depleted line like this, they will not be very successful. To make matters worse, they only have one starter coming back at receiver. 3 of the 4 receivers, including the TE, will be new starters. Guys, it's very simple here, Troy will dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. This is an obvious bet on Troy.

This game might as well be at a neutral stadium. MTSU has zero fan support. A few years ago they brought in Outkast after a game just trying to get people to show up to the game.

Thanks guys. The new QB makes me a little nervous, but once again, I think they do cover this spread

Troy lost their top 3 wideouts from a year ago and their top two CBs. Plus, I don't care how good they think their new QB is gonna be, it's not easy to step right in and replace the two time SBC offensive player of the year. Omar Haugabook was the Troy offense the last few years.

I don't think this game is as easy as you seem to think it is. I actually have the Blue Raiders winning this game outright. Last year's game was played in Troy with a healthy Trojan team beating up on a completely decimated MTSU squad. MTSU comes into this game healthy with double revenge on their minds.

MTSU probably has the strongest kicking game in the SBC this year. They return their starting K from last year along with an All State kicker from Florida who has range to about 57 yards. Plus, they return their punter who averaged 40.9 yards last year and downed 28 punts inside the 20! Oh, and their long snapper returns, also. Not one bad snap from him last year. Not sure where you are getting that they are bad?

Well, I hope they are able to get a kick off with that offensive line . . . .

Look, dude, I have reiterated in several threads that I begin my game handicapping at the line of scrimmage. I don't care how great the skill players or kickers are, if they don't have blocking they can't do shit. I also don't care how past games have turned out, I'm capping this game only. The fact is that Troy has recruited better than MTSU and they have talented players replacing the ones lost. Will they be great right off? Not likely, but they will have a better chance to produce behind an experienced offensive and defensive line than what MTSU players will.

I'm certainly not perfect on all my plays, but I will not lay money on a decimated offensive line that has no depth. In fact, I've already laid money against them . . . .

Returning their kicker(s) hurt this team. They were a combined 6-13 last year. Missing four inside forty yards.

Listen, bro, all I am doing is correcting a guy that posted bad info. How about the guy that reads this thread trying to find some info on the total and he's getting half truths about special teams. I don't care where your capping begins or ends or whatever. I just read the analysis and try to add whatever info I might have that can help. If you want me to keep my info to myself and go back to lurking, then I will.
