Smith's stock should be going down about as far as that Heisman ought to be going up his ass.

Pretty much I thought he would go late 1st or early 2nd round with a decent performance based off the Heisman and hype but I can see late 3rd or 4th rounder. Christ I sound like Mel Kiper :puppy:

The Heisman curse continues. He might as well be on the cover of SI.

I am completely baffled by what I watched last night. Troy Smith 40 yards total, I just cannot believe what I have witnessed.

AND this BIG TEN must just plain suck? I could not believe the Michigan performance, nor the Ohio State performance.

I am completely shocked...AND I HAVE DETERMINED THAT I REALLY SHOULD NOT BE BETTING COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

TROY SMITH JUST LOST MORE THAN EVERYONE IN THIS FORUM..IF HE HAS A GOOD GAME, HE GOES IN FIRST ROUND...NOW, WHO THE ??? KNOWS WHEN HE GOES.:WTF:

Troy Smith just doesn't look like an NFL QB. Russell of LSU has it all over him. Not even close.

ALL MONDAY MORNING QUARTERBACK NOW. BUT THE STATS AND MY EYES WATCHING THIS GUY ALL YEAR DO NOT JUSTIFY THAT GAME HE HAD LAST NIGHT. HE LOOKED HORRIBLE.

AND I SAID THIS GUY COULD BE THE FIRST PICK IN THE DRAFT, AND HE WAS THE HEISMAN WINNER. WHAT REALLY HAPPENED TO THIS GUY? WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT GAME ABOUT LAST NIGHT?

Well, a good start is the offensive line. I wouldn't be too quick to question Smith, considering the amount of time he had. And the Tressel's playcalling didn't help matters much.

Thanks for clarifying CF for those who flip a lid at one performance. Anyone watched that game could see that Troy had no protection and was takin out of his gameplan early. That is what you would get out of any fackin qb in his situation.

He was never any good, just happened to play for 1 of the best teams in the country. Guy has no arm for the pros and can't scramble at all and you will need that in the pros. Last night he had to actaully face a rush and do things quicker and he failed the test. That game last night was a test for Smith. Scouts all wanted to see what would happen when he got rushed and had to do things quicker.

That is why he will not even get drafted. He is way too slow for the pros and you could see it all year if you were looking for it. Part of the problem is people look at players and they are not looking at the signs that he can play at a higher level. Heck he could play at Ohio State for 10 more years and look great, but that's because he's not getting rushed very much against the weaker college teams.

It was obvious.

If you ever played QB (and I did) you would understand that the QB is the player who needs to find the recievers and hit them with the right pass. The QB should always take the blame when passes are not being completed. I always took the blame when I couldn't find a reciever and always thought it was MY FAULT if I couldn't complete a pass.

The only time it wasn't my fault is when I was getting rushed instantly. Then it was the lines fault. But only then.

The only thing that had Troy Smith in the draft talk was his supposed elusiveness. The ability to get out of trouble and make a play down the field.al Vince young...(yeah righ...Troy Smith aint good enough to eat his breakfast cereal out of Vince Young's jockstrap)..

florida rushed what was supposed to be the second coming of VY incessantly, constantly and without fear of getting burned.

Do you know why teams never did this against Vince Young? Did you see the blitz called against Vy on the final play in OT well he simply got around the rushing DE and 4 seconds later he was ripping his helmet off in in the enzone...

Can we expect this from Troy Smith in the pros? HELL NO...
Troy Smith couldnt not escape from the pressure so there goes that whole myth about his escapability...For crying out loud the guy got tracked down and sacked by a vulnerable helmetless line man..
HOw pathetic is that?
Troy smith is not the victim of one single game. Matter of fact this one game pretty much offers a window into exactly what his NFL future will hold. He is simply no better than Chris leak or any of the other average QB's coming out this year.

Raiders better pick jarmacus russell. Troy smith is a fraud that got exposed by a defensive line in the BCs championship, that is far inferior to anything he will face in the NFL.

The one single myth about him (his elusiveness) was singularly busted and he was put into the same category as every other middling qb who will amount to nothing more than a back up on the next level.

By the way that is an amazing picture. And yes Cutler will turn out to be the best QB from this most recent draft, no question. I've been saying that since his senior year at Vandy...he's a stud.

Former Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith was arrested early Sunday morning for drunk driving.According to the Columbus Dispatch, the 31-year-old Smith was pulled over at 2:38 a.m. in Westerville, Ohio, after an officer noticed his car “was missing a front license plate and appeared to be weaving.”
After being pulled over, Smith failed field sobriety tests and was found to have a .143 blood-alcohol content after consenting to a Breathalyzer test. Smith was also cited for possession of marijuana.
From the Dispatch:
Police said Smith didn’t properly execute several field tests. He agreed to take a Breathalyzer test, which measured his blood-alcohol level at 0.143 percent, police said. In Ohio, it is illegal for anyone to drive with a level of 0.08 percent or above.
The arresting officer noted in his report that when he first walked up to Smith’s car, “Smith said something that sounded like he said he was an officer. I asked him if he was a police officer, and he said, ‘I’m great.’ ”
Smith was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired, improper display of a license plate, and possession of marijuana, police said. Police reports indicated that they found two rolled cigars containing marijuana in the car’s center console. Smith also smelled of alcohol and marijuana, police said.

Smith played for Ohio State from 2003 to 2006 under Jim Tressel. He threw for 2,542 yards, 30 touchdowns and six interceptions and won the Heisman Trophy as a senior.
Smith was selected in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens and spent three seasons with the team. He also had a one-year stint with the San Francisco 49ers in 2010 and played in the United Football League and Canadian Football League.
