Southern California dropped nine spots and out of the top 10 in The Associated Press college football poll and Washington moved into the rankings for the first time in six years.

A day after the Huskies upset the Trojans on a late field goal, USC fell from No. 3 to No. 12 on Sunday.
The Trojans became the second preseason top-five team to lose in the first three weeks of the season. Preseason No. 3 Oklahoma lost its opener to BYU.
No. 1 Florida and No. 2 Texas have held firm to their spots all season. No. 3 Alabama and No. 4 Mississippi each moved up a spot this week. Penn State remained No. 5.
BYU dropped the farthest, 12 spots to 19th after a 54-28 home loss to Florida State, which moved back into the rankings. Washington is No. 24.

Mississippi and Penn State #4 and #5 after playing....

Please. At least 60-70 teams in college football would be undefeated after playing those 'schedules'. Why not reward Cal for playing 2 BCS conference teams (1 on the road).

Why does Miami (FL) deserve to jump 11 spots for winning a home game over a team that the poll says isn't even good enough to be ranked. Can't wait to see OU go to Miami and end this ridiculous love fest. Since when does beating 2 ACC teams, with 1 win thanks to a dropped pass, show you should move from unranked to top 10 in 2 weeks?

funny to see that Notre Dame was ranked in top 20 to start the year, they blow out Nevada, then lose on the road at a ranked team and come home to beat a good team (not great) but not a swmost. type team...and they still arent ranked....

wanted to say the same thing. regardless of the hatred for the irish they are definitely a top 25 team this year. those rankings are only "what have you done for me lately" bullshit.

LOL... USC sucks, they always lose to some chump team every year. Too bad we won't get to see UF/USC as I wanted to see UF beat the shit out of USC but now they'll be lucky to even get in a BCS game.
