I live near Columbus, Ohio and haven't gotten to see him much this year.
How is he playing? His stats are not good, that's about all I know. Worthy of the #1 overall pick would you say?

Believe it or not, I saw him at a grocery store here last summer. He doesn't look old at all in person. I'm serious. I was surprised.

out of place right now. still trying to figure out where to be, typical rookie problems. He's 7 and 7 right now and averages 22 minutes a game. what you want is just a full healthy remainder of the season. numbers will come.

He's had perhaps the toughest type surgery there is to recover from. He's already admitted in interviews that he's lost a foot on his vertical jump. He tested at 36 inches in the combine prior to surgery so he's not anything special right now. From an eyes view, he's also not nearly as explosive with his defensive movements as when he was at OSU. The microfracture surgery recovery, if successful, usually takes around two years to come back. No telling if he'll ever fully recover, but nobody would expect any more of a physical recovery than what he's shown so far. So, his new 'limited' ability along with the new pace and skill level of the NBA is a bunch of 'learning curves' that are all slowing him down.

16 points tonight 5-7 6-6 free throws 10 rb ! The Blazers are smart to let him slowly recover. He could become a very good center in the NBA. He is nowhere close to playing at his potential yet ! Portland is probably the youngest team in the NBA so why hurry him back ?

I don't think his knee is fully healthy. He will get it back by next year. You should see a huge jump from end of this year to start of next...
