Been going to this local harness track(Sports Creek Raceway in Michigan) for nearly 20 years and love it but it has slowly went downhill thru the years.
You would laugh if you seen how little money was bet per race. The money bet on the favorite to win is around $150 but with that said I love it. I usually hold my own there as it is just a dinner crowd who bets mostly simulcasts. It's so bad that a horse won last Saturday nite and had zero dollars on it to win and it wasn't that bad of a horse, never seen that before. Worse part is their is a decent size crowd there. Not sure how or why they are keeping the doors open.
Do any of you guys have any strategies to bet there? If you bet $50 to win on horse you make him the favorite. My goal is to bet $50 bucks or so a race and maybe make $50 profit for the nite. How would you go about this, tri's,per's, wins? Been thinking about this for years but can't figure out what to do as value almost becomes an after thought because you can ruin your horses odds with just a $20 win bet.
Any suggestions on how to attack this as I feel I have a HUGE edge over the public capping wise from my years of playing there. Remember I am looking to make around $50 buck or so betting a little over $600 for the nite. I know that is 8% ROI and it is extremely high but is a goal
