Hard to figure out exactly what he is charged with. Professional gambling? If losing $350K qualifies as being a pro ... wowww. The article does imply tax implications when it mentions he paid losses from the Sebastian Sports account. If he was in turn listing those expenditures as deductible expenses that is clearly illegal.

My guess is he stiffed someone who was connected enough to get this pushed through. Otherwise I can't see why anyone would even care to prosecute. I mean it sounds more to me that he needs GA more than a fine and minimal jail sentence.

He is by no means the #1 man in this investigation.

He is getting a lot of press because of his radio fame. Basically, he is degenerate caught in the spider web. I doubt he does any jail time. The government wants the money, and he does not have any.
