What is the best total on the board for week 1? I tend to look for Under's where defenses are ahead of the offenses in the opening weeks. Some other things I'm considering is teams with: New coaching personel, Inexperienced QB on the road, stout D's with returing tacklers, among other considerations. I'm not a big total's guy, but there is an opportunity to make some $$ on opening lines where Vegas is not up to speed on how well or poor some teams will play. Opinions are encouraged. Especially guy's that do well with totals. Lets make some :money:

Koop. I've already played a few totals. I only put down about a half a unit on each so I don't bother to list them in my thread. But my top play right now is Arizona/CMU (Under 55) 55 was a key number it crossed over for me. The only place that i'm seeing it right now is in one of my old books Sportsbetting. I think it's 54.5 everyplace else. A few others:

Tulsa/Tulane (under 64) New QB on the road for Tulsa. Good new DC and possible improved defense by Tulane
Purdue/Toledo (under 51) Two new coaches with new systems. Toledo new HC Beckman is ex DC. So he'll probably preach more defense for the Rockets. I would like to see this total make it back up to 52.
UCLA/SDST (under 51.5) Again I would prefer to see 52. Two of the worst offensive lines in the nation last season. UCLA starting a freshman QB. Bruins defense could be the best in the Pac-10. With new DC Rocky Long, SDST should be a little better against the run.
OU/BYU (under 68) I liked this total a lot more when it was at 75 for about a minute. But I think despite having two hesiman caliber QB's in this game, losing 9 OL starters total from both teams is going to mean a slow start. Plus I think OU's DL is going to put a hurt on these mormons. I'm waiting on this one hoping the total might go up a couple of clicks.
Zona/CMU (Under 55) Zona loses a 4 year starter and school record holder for passing yards. Pac-10 record holder for receiving yards. And their best OL (NFL 2nd round). But this will be Stoops best defense.

Yo koop. you say you like unders, look into, OKLA ST / GEORGIA u61, as most bowl games showed last year, big 12 is trash against sec. and with georgia trying to work out kinks as well with new qb and rb, prime spot for a 31 - 20 ish kind of game. just my opinion anyway.

Great info GS! This is a nice start in the right direction. There have been guys on here in the past that made a killing on totals alone. I've spent most of summer studying the teams, so I'm trying to find angles (like u have mentioned above) to exploit some early totals. Thanks for the work. I'll put some additional research into the plays above. Great reasoning in all of them. d1g1t

Ok State vs Georiga. The total in this game is 62 and at first I thought it was a good mark. There is no doubt about the skill Ok State has on offense but 62 is alot. Georgia has a new QB and they play SEC defense. Can Georiga score? I do believe OK State wins this game but not in a shootout. Ok State should be much approved on the defensive side of the ball also. Ok State 30 Georgia 20. <!-- / message -->

Someone correct me if I am wrong...but I realize OSU's offense was extreely high octane last season averaging 40ppg (if memory serves me) but of that 40ppg, they averaged over 50ppg against teams not named Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Texas and only avg 28ppg against the above mentioned teams...they beat up on the schulps and weren't quite the same versus the cream of the Big 12 crop...

I really like the under 62

already played the over. Love the over 62 in the OKIE Game.

Love it

Okie will put up 50 on Geogria...Georgia will hit 20 but mostly through the back door in quarter 4.

Georgia is going to suck this year. They sucked last year with Stafford. They will give OKIE great field position and OKIE will run up the score on an average D

I see it Okie 55 Geo 23:cripwalk:
