We've have served drinks Friday, Saturday, and Monday night. We stayed open until about 11:30 on both Friday and Saturday. Last night we shut it down about 11. Closing time is strictly a play it by ear situation right now. If we have a full bar we will stay open as late as 2AM. We have also served a few beers early in the day yesterday and Friday. If you are interested you can stop by and get something to drink any time after 11AM.
We will probably start serving some food on Wednesday night. It will only be a limited number of items so please don't come if you are expecting the full menu. We want to make sure everyone is used to our new facilities and new procedures in the kitchen before we dive into the full menu. Steven should begin experimenting with pizza sometime in August and it will certainly be in full swing before the NFL season starts.
Currently we have six flat screens on the walls - the six we had at the time of the fire. All survived. We are waiting for five more that we hope to be here in a week or so. Since this is Costa Rica we are also aware that it might be "mas tarde". For the time being we only have Amnet which is all we need to watch the All-Star Game. We are still waiting for our new huge (3.8 meters across) satellite dish to go in. We will have eight Direct TV feeds from the States. We are very excited to have the capacity to show up to 10 NFL games at the same time.
For now the seating is strictly at the bar with three tall tables. The seating for our back room should come out of storage within a week. Mike and Lofty will soon begin building the booths for the new VIP area where the kitchen used to be.
All in all, the place looks pretty damn good as it is. Last night one customer said we have the best looking place around the way it is right now. Very nice to hear. We also had a request for the return of the black tarp. I had to tell him that it melted and is no more.
