Was it just me or was that poorly coached? Specifically the last inning with 1 out guy on 2 and 3r 1st base open. With Rollins (absolutely atrocious coming up do you not walk Felix to load the bases)? Rollins is hitting with RISP is god awful and likely going to get you the dbl play or out. Regardless, he needed to at least give his team a chance to get out of the inning with a dbl play or at minimum easy force out.

Prior to that bases loaded no outs. Is it not the managers responsibility to make damn sure that ball goes to the right side instead it was pulled down the 3rd base line for the dbl play(worst possible outcome next to the triple which if attempted may have been completed.) Yes I was on the Dodgers but regardless, in my eyes horrible coaching.

I said the exact same thing. When I saw that they decided to pitch to Feliz...who already hurt them, instead of pitching to Rollins who is on a huge slump, I knew they would lose for sure. And not challenging that batter in the bottom of the 9th who was just called up from AAA and challenging Feliz instead...that is just very poor coaching.

I don't think pitching to Feliz instead of Rollins was a bad decision. Rollins might be struggling right now but he still was the MVP last year. I don't think there is a manager out there that would have walked Feliz to get to Rollins. Can you imagine if he did and Rollins gets a hit? Then everyone would say how can you walk a .250 hitter Feliz to get to the reigning MVP.

Secondly, when Feliz was up and runners at 2nd and third there were two outs so they didn't need the double play they just needed an out.

We can dissect it all we want. LAD deserved to lose that game. They had so many chances to put the game out of reach, score lots of runs, and they didn't.

That's right. He is the reason LA Lost and leaving men on base every inning. I had the phillies but in no way was this Torre's fault. You walk Feliz to get to Rollins and Rollins wins the game and you look like the biggest idiot to ever walk the earth. Hindsight is 20/20.

No way you look like an idiot creating the force out against a player that flat out has sucked the last 2 months. MVP??? who cares, baseball is not about last years MVP. It is all about situations and players in that moment. Rollins has zero confidence. Shot up the middle short has a play at second for the force out. Same with second on a ball up the middle easy out at second. Hindsight has nothing to do with this conversation. Purely a baseball mentality and what should have been done vs what was. Walk to get the force out and get to the worst batter on the team.

If I remember correctly, Broxton couldnt throw at strike at that point. He was missing up and away to pretty every much lefty. How dumb would Torre have looked if Broxton promptly walked Rollins on 4 pitches?

First, you didn't even know how many outs there were saying they should have walked him to set up the double play. Feliz a career .250 hitter vs. a right hander where he's even worse or walk him to get to Rollins. No manager in their right mind would have walked Feliz in that situation to get to Rollins.

Actually Broxton was out of the game but loading the bases would have been iffy with that pitcher and the way he was throwing as well. There is not one manager who would have walked Feliz in that situation or frankly even though about it.

You guys can argue this all you want. Bottom line is, LAD 13 hits, 19 total baserunners, 2 runs. Bases loaded no outs in top 10...zero runs. LAD deserved to lose.

One more thing, the Dodgers have became the darlings because they have Manny Ramirez but their record is 11-12 now and they are averaging the same runs per game. Their offense is just weak with or without Ramirez. The only reason they are even in the race is the weak division they play in.

Broxton couldnt throw a damn strike. They didnt intentionally walk that Tracy guy to get to Feliz. He couldnt find the strike zone. And also Torre probably didnt want to walk Feliz to get to Rollins because wild overweight Broxton would have probably walked in the tying run.

Broxton is a fat ass who has blown 7 saves. I owe him a box of dunuts after last night. Thank you fatboy and thank you ManRam for not hustling on Victorino's hit allowing him to get to second.

You can pretty much put the Dodgers to bed. This 7 game east coast trip couldn't have come a worse time in their schedule. They never play well out here, plus they then have to head home to play Zona after coming all back home. Then they have a 4 game series w/ the Pirates to boot.

This team is really mediocre, but gets reaspect for having Torre as their manager and Manny in the line up. Broxton thinks he's a closer, but has yet to fully grasp the role. Next yr should be different if they can retain Manny, get Frucal back, dump Andrue Jones, and get their pitching staff in order.
