Number of posts seem to be a badge of honor around here. Sometimes posters are not taken seriously because they only have a few posts. This is the totem pole that has been built.

exilarch, IMO. it depends on the content of the post. When we get first time posters, registered the same day, bashing or flaming other posters, sportsbooks, or in some cases, The Rx. itself, naturally we are skeptical. On the other hand, we have lots of new or low post count posters who have valid questions or opinions that are treated with equality and taken seriously.

Have a Good one, please post all you want, just remember when you start a topic, that this is a gambling forum. Sometime we get some topics, although harmless, make me scratch my head thinking what was the poster thinking. A recent non-gambling thread that turned out to be excellent was opened by Dogball, asking posters to list their favorite books (the kind you read). Anyway if you have something you think will create discussion and debate, go for it.

Wil, although they may be newbies from a posting perspective, they may be 5 year lurkers who just decide to start posting and have strong opinions or their held back aggressions are unleashed on their first couple posts..

Just a thought.

Like I said it depends on the content. Long time lurkers don't usually start posting by saying xyz sportsbook stiffed me out of 3 dimes, and post no evidence to back it up. btw. We have a newbies forum for posters who feel intimidated by Offshore. Personally when I read a post, I am more likely to form an erroneous first opinion if a poster has a long history and thousands of posts. To say that "number of posts" gives anyone extra credibility regarding valid, and if necessary documented allegations in a particular post is just not true. When a post is made containing substance and validity, it recieves as much attention as necessary, regardless of the poster, newbie or grizzled veteran. Post flames or trash and be treated accordingly, again, both new or veteran posters alike. I will add that this is IMHO. Others are entitled to think differently of course.

I think the more you treat other posters with RESPECT the more clout you hold as a poster in this or any forum , that has been my experience
