-Big Rivalry for these two today...The Bluegrass Rivalry takes on even more meaning this year as the Cardinals of Louisville look to be this years BCS trouble makers, while Kentucky looks for payback to the Cardinals for last years ass spanking they got in Lexington...But this game is also important to both squads as well because it definately has a Big impact on both programs in-state recruiting success...
Well with all that is at stake here in this Big in-state rivalry game, I am still going to have to side with the more explosive and fully loaded Louisville Cardinal team that will be led again this year by their talented and potent Offensive Unit...Louisville returns 9 Offensive starters from a team that avg'd 489 ypg last year, which was 5th in the nation...Kentucky only returns 5 starters on Offense, which must replace starting QB Lorenze and their top two WR's, including Mr Everything Dereck Abney...Whereas the Cardinals can boast a stack of talent at every skilled position on Offensive, the Wildcats cannot and this is especially true on the O Line where they are their weakest...QB Boyd is a good a talented candidate to take over the Wildcat Offense, but without a solid O Line to protect him and with too much weight to be carried on his shoulders without much help...I cannot see how this Wildcat squad will be able to compete shot for shot with this scoring machine that the Cardinals posses this year...Kentucky returns 9 on defense to Louisville's 8, but this one is all about Offense and Kentucky's lack of Offensive weapons to match up with Louisville's multiple arsenal will be their downfall...Louisville at home gets this one rather EZ...Go Cardinals!
