Aloha Gang.......I hope you all are in good healths and spirits today......Yesterday I posted a
4W-4L= +3.00 Units......Yesterday was also the third consecutive winning day for me which turned out a
19W-10L= +24.92 Units......My TOP 3 Unit Plays also during this span got back on track going
9W-4L.......Spanking some Major Ass as well was my Late Set of Plays that posted a very solid
11W-2L record for the week....That was Sweet ending the days with on a winning note......
Well enough with that past shit....Today is a new week, so its a new run to cashiers window....,We have a short card today, but I see some juicy plays for us to Bank On!.....So lets get this New Weeks Party Started Already!....
**TOP 3 UNIT PLAY ON:
Florida -136
-Florida almost got it done vs the Big Unit yesterday.....If not for one bad inning, we would of gotten the solid win...But shit happens, and that is why he is the Man....
Today though, he is not on the hill and that is why I am going right back to the Florida Marlins in this one......Zona is one of those teams that seem to only get up when Randy gets on the mound, but fall right back to sleep when he is not....Today, I feel is one of those days....
Zona is still struggling at the plate vs RHP's hitting ONLY .208 vs them in their last 10 games......Florida is hitting .256 vs RHP's in their last 10 games vs them....Pavano for Florida has been pitching very well so far this year and has had just 2 bad outings, leading to his 2 losses on the year....His last outing vs Houston was his worst, as he allowed 9 hits, 5 runs, and 1 HR......But Zona's sticks are no where near that of the 3rd ranked hitting team in the League in Houston.....Zona is ranked 5th to last in hitting % in the League....
Pavano this year after a loss or a bad outing, where Florida still won but he received a ND, I've noticed that he comes out in his next start and produces an excellent game redeeming his last start....Only Houston following a ND for him is the exception....but again, Zona is no Houston....This is the kind of pitcher you want to back, as he seems to become very focused and determined to make up for his poor showing.....Here is an example of what he did in his next start following a loss or ND to him....Montreal, pitched 7 innings, allowed 3 hits, no runs, and 1 walk......Colorado, pitched 8 innings, allowed 5 hits, 2 runs, and 1 wald.....SD, pitched 8 innings, allowed just 4 hits, only 1 run, and 0 walks....
I see him being able to dominate this Zona team, following this redemption trend that he has been following after a loss and ND games......Florida is 8-2 in Pavano's last 10 starts which supports this play, while the D-Backs are just 3-7 in their last 10 overall...Randy Johnson, btw was responsible for getting 2 of those 3 wins in this span....
Webb for Zona takes the mound with a 2-3 record and an 2.95 ERA....Still, looking at his last 9 starts, his pattern seems to be that after a good outing where he got a shutout win or a near shutout, it was followed by him giving up multiple runs and getting a ND........In his last game vs Atlanta he pitched an outstanding shutting out the Braves....If he follows his recent pattern after a shutout, it should lead to him giving up mulitple runs and that should spell another Zona lost.....
Another advantage Florida has will be in their ability to move runners on base via Stealing..... In fact, Florida ranks nineth in the League in stolen bases with 29....Florida has 3 guys led by 3rd ranked Juan Pierre in stolen bases in the League....Why this ability will play a big part in this one, is due to the fact that eventhough Webb for Zona has a low ERA, he also gives up a lot of walks.....In fact, he has been averaging 3 walks his last three games, and 28 walks in total this year, which ranks him 4th in the League in walks allowed....Not good vs this Florida team who is a patient team at the plate and who has 4 players in their lineup that rank in the Top 50 in getting on base via walks.....With Webbs potential to give up walks, puttting men on base for Florida mixed in with the Fishes ability to move runners via SB, I have to say that Florida will have many more opportunities to put men in scoring positon and more opportunities to get runs.....Zona not as aggressive a team ranking near the bottom in SB, so they will need to do it the harder way, base hits.....But as I have stated, they are only hitting .208 vs RHP of late....
Making matters worst for the D-Backs, is that Pavano has ONLY given up 15 walks all year....This may be a long day for Zona and a very efficient and effective game played by the Fish......In short, Zona's struggle vs RHP's and facing Florida's Pavano who doesnt walk much, leaves them no real advantage to put men on base and in scoring position.....Whereas in Florida's case, facing a Pitcher like Webb who gives up a lot of walks, and Florida's aggressive base running, and as well Florida playing to bounce back from last nights lost and take this series played in their house, gives them a very decided advantage today.....Florida has the advantage on getting on base, via the hits and via the walks.....The Over is 6-0 in Webb's last six games says a lot.....and Florida should be able to continue this over streak today vs Webb.....
Making matters worst for the D-Backs Offense today is the loss of Sexson from the lineup due to injury......and also Luis Gonzalez who will now have to carry the load now that Sexson is out....Only problem is that, although he got a blast in yesterday's game, he is still in a 2-18 slump at the plate....No good for this Zona team who already is struggling to score runs and is ONLY averaging 2.4 runs in their last 10 games......Fish should dominate today!.....
