Aloha Gang...Well yesterday was simply a terrible day as I lost my TOP Play on Missouri who was beaten outright by a team called Troy, unfreakin believable!...This brings my TOP PLAYSrecord to 4W-2L= +11.8 Units YTD....Today we got more college action on tap before we start another Big College Football Saturday...So lets use today to get back to our winning ways and go into this weekend on a solid positive note...Today is Bounce Back Time!...LETS GET TO ROCKIN!
**4 UNIT PLAY ON:
Florida St +2
-In this type of game this early in the season, experience usually wins out, and Florida St has a lot of it especially on Offense...Miami's also has lost to many key players from last years team on Defense, not to mention their secondary coach Mark Stoops, who went to join his brother at Arizona and this will gives that loaded FL St WR squad a favorable advantages tonight...FL St also lost a lot on Def, but they do return their rock solid secondary and they should matchup well with Miami's WRs...
Everyone seems to be getting down on QB Rix, but Miami's QB Berlin has proven to be very irratic and inconsistant at gettin the offense moving last year...He also can be turnover prone as he threw 17 ints to only 12 TD's last year...Without his top go to receiver in TE Winslow in the lineup and having to face this solid FL St secondary, a squad who he threw 5 ints against last year, he might find the going a bit tougher today...He may struggle again today, especially if FL St can put pressure on him and hold Miami's tandem RBs in check....And this year, unlike last year, QB Berlin will not be able to depend on his defense to bail him out should he falter again...
On the other side, I think QB Rix will be fully focused in this game today...as well as, on every game this season...He went through his growing pains, and knows that there is no next year anymore to fall back on should he lose his focus and not play up to his potential...Sometimes, it takes knowing that this is your last chance before things are taken seriously...I think Rix is completely aware of this, and I think his maturity, will make him finally play like he was expected to play from the beginning of his career....QB Rix gets the monkey off his back tonight, and then leads his Seminole team back to the National Championship Game...
Side Note: Sometimes due to tragedies, teams will rally around a player or coach who was personally affected in some way...I see the Noles, rallying around their beloved Coach Bowden today and play to win this one for him, because of what he has lost in that tragic family accident....Sometimes, players find it easier to get motivated to play hard for someone or something else, instead of just doing it because it is expected of them...Ex, GB and how they rallied around QB Brett Farve after his father past away....Todays game provides a perfect situation, Miami provides a perfect opponent, and that tragic loss of Coach Bowdens family members, sorry to say, provides a perfect motivating incentive for the Noles to play totally focused and more than ever committed to finally get that Big win over Miami.
