Aloha Gang......I hope you are all in good health and spirits today......Well for me I am still in a bit of a slump, which is being spurred on by some bad beats of late.....Dam them Cubs BP giving up a 2 run blast yesterday to a struggling Bondless SF team......Dam SD losing after up 6-0 to the worst home team in the Majors.....Anyways, yesterday I went
6W-5L, and again losing by the vig.....Still, the sun came out today and it is again a new day, and a chance for redemption and an opportunity to embrace it with a new positive outlook as we head on into the weekend.......Its Aloha Friday Gang.....and that means No Work till Monday.......So lets start this weekend Party off early today......Lets Dance Baby!
**TOP 3 UNIT PLAY ON:
St Louis Cardinals -117
-I gotta go with the Cards who are playing better ball on the offensive end of late over the struggling and injury plagued Cubs team today.......Carpenter for the Cards hits the hill today, where he has been solid this year, especially in his last 3 starts where he is 3-0 with an 3.10 ERA, allowing just 15 hits and 7 runs, in over 20 innings......Carpenter, more currently, in his last two starts has ONLY allowed 8 hits and ONLY 2 runs in 15 innings, one of which includes a shutout win over the Fishes from Florida.....
Mitre for the Cubs, on the other hand, in his last 3 starts overall he went 2-1 with a 5.63 ERA, and struggled a bit giving up 23 hits, 10 runs, in just 16 innings....More specifically though, in Mitre last 3 starts at home he has given up 25 hits and has a higher ERA of 6.60 and a WHIP of 2.06....So it seems that pitching at home doesn't give him any edge at all over his opponents....
An advantage Carperter has today, beside having the better Offense to back him up, is that he will be facing the Cubs for the first time in his career and will do it also without having to deal with Sosa in the lineup......Most times, when a solid pitcher comes in to face a team that has never seen or dealt with him before, he will have an advantage as it will take some time for the opposing hitters to get use to what he has to offer.......Mitre as well will be facing the Cards for the first time in his career, but due to his recent struggles, a struggling Offense, and his tendency to give up a lot of hits, especially at home......I dont expect that he will be able to avoid being tagged by this Cards Offensive squad, who has multiple players in the zone of late at the plate, for to long if at all.......The Cubs only real bright spot is Moises Alou, who has been single handily been keeping them in the game these past few....but as you can see by their losing the series to an even worst struggling, Bondless, team in the Giants says a lot about their current woes......
Other stats and statistics I like favoring the Cards today:
-They are 5-2 in Carpenter's last 7 starts......And they have won 7 of their last 10 games overall.....
-The Cards are 5-1 on the road when the ML is between -100-125.
-They will have the advantage in the BP, where they have a 2.58 ERA on the road.....giving up NO homeruns away from home...
-The Cubs BP(Assholes...lol.) sucks and has an ERA of 4.99, and has given up 15 HR's overall (10 of them at home), and 70 Walks overall (30 of them at home).
-Lastly, the Cards currently have the better Offense then the Cubs in almost every statistical category over Cubs.....Only below the Cubs in HR's on the year, but again no Sosa today....
*Also one overlooked statistic that favors the Cards in this one is their ability to move the runner on base via STEALING.....The Cards rank 3rd in the entire League in SB's, whereas the Cubs play conservative and rank 2nd to last in the league in this catergory......Better Team Hitting %+better OBP+3rd in SB=possibly more opportunities to win.....
In short, to me, the Cards have the better Offense and Defensive matchup in this game today and I like them to come out with another impressive win today, just like they did yesterday vs the Mets.....GL.
**Ok Gang......Lets start this Aloha Friday Off on a winning note......I will have the rest of my card up a little later, so you are all welcome to check back for them if interested......Lets have some fun today Gang and keep it positive as only positive will come.......Good luck to ALL today and LETS GO GET EM! ALOHA CC.
