WASHINGTON (AP) — A published report says one of the nation's top biodefense researchers has died of an apparent suicide just as the Justice Department was about to file charges against him in the 2001 anthrax attacks.
The Los Angeles Times says the scientist, 62-year-old Bruce Ivins, who worked at the government's biodefense labs at Fort Detrick, Md., had been told about the impending prosecution.
Ivins died Tuesday at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Maryland. The Times, quoting an unidentified colleague, said the scientist had taken a massive dose of a prescription drug.
FBI officials in Washington wouldn't immediately comment on the case.

I've been informed that certain heart drugs are the best policy.

Despite all the people I've ever heard talking about doing themselves in over the years I've yet to actually meet a single one who actually did.

My granny had a huge pile of DIY drugs after my grandad went, for when her time came.
She still hung on to the bitter end though, and never asked a soul to help her on her way.

Well. that would explain why it was often described as "weapons grade anthrax made by the US Government".

Of course, many truthers around here will say he was only the fall guy and / or this is controlled opposition. Bush had to clean up loose ends before he left office, so this guy falls 7 years later. Bush didn't have to worry about it in 2004, he knew the fix was in. :lol:
